Our stay was great! We stayed in the area for a wedding and the venue was a quick 6 minute drive away! The apartment was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable as well. Astrid and her husband were extremely friendly and were quick to respond to messages! I highly recommend this property if you are staying in the area!

About the host

Hosted by Astrid Helfant

Host profile image
My husband and I have made this house our home since 2001 and raised our twin sons here. I grew up in the Netherlands and teach science at our local public school. My husband teaches at Colgate University and enjoys managing the grounds around the property, including 40 acres of land across the street.

Why they chose this property

Our property contains views of the woods in the summer and the distant hills in the winter. It has a large front and back yard with beautiful trees. Our home is close to downtown Hamilton and the Colgate Campus. The area provides excellent walking and biking opportunities in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter.

What makes this property unique

Our property offers a unique blend of convenience and privacy—located just minutes from downtown and the Colgate campus, yet set in completely secluded surroundings. It’s the ideal setting for families or groups looking to gather and celebrate in an intimate, private retreat.
