About this property
Downtown Charming Craftsman with Courtyard
Nestled in one of the desirable neighborhoods in San Luis Obispo, this Craftsman style 2 bedroom/ 1 bath home was constructed between SLO’s hip Railroad Square and the historic downtown.
The property sleeps 4 comfortably. Both bedrooms are sunny and furnished with beautiful golden birds-eye-maple. Bed linens are 100% cotton and sheets are line-dried (weather permitting). The lovely queen sleeps two and the second bedroom (which sleeps 2-3) has a double sleigh bed and twin.
Shower or soak in a retro tub complete with original pink tile. Lavender bath crystals provided. Afterwords bundle up in a cotton terrycloth robe. A comfortable bench for toweling dry doubles as a changing table for the little ones.
Living room has a variety of English and Spanish books for adults and a great bilingual library for kids! A mixture of classic English and Spanish Videos and DVDs make up the eclectic movie library. Many for children also.
A separate desk area (lit nicely during the day by a skylight) has multiple outlets for your various technological gadgets to charge and makes for a nice study should you need to bring any work along during your stay.
The kitchen has a French farmhouse feel. Gourmet cooks will appreciate the large, vintage gas range and French style hood with adjustable lighting and venting. The open floor plan allows you to socialize easily with your guests in the living room or the dining nook with views out to the Mediterranean-inspired courtyard. Fresh herbs are easily accessible and elderberries (mint too) for fresh tea. The pantry is usually stocked with staples such as flour. sugar, olive oil and vinegar, salt, pepper, spices and coffee.
This home is sunny, restful and welcoming.
When not traveling, the hospitable owner can be found in the studio on the property. When she’s in town expect homemade lemonade upon arrival.

About the host
Your host

I am an avid world traveler which is my passion. When not traveling, I enjoy the 'SLO' life and spend my time with hobbies like cooking, designing, and hiking the surrounding hills. I am happy to be of assistance if needed and/or be your concierge.
Why they chose this property
I chose this home because of its sunny rooms and ideal location to walking downtown and nearby outdoor activities and beaches. I love being able to look out and see San Luis Mtn. from the front porch swing. The weather is almost always perfect and there is always something fun to do in this area.
What makes this property unique
All within walking distance, there are great restaurants, tapas and coffee bars, boutiques, Farmers' Market (Thursdays), summer concerts in Mission Plaza and movie houses (The Palm Theater shows foreign films!). But if you venture out a little further, we have incredible day trips such as: Morro Bay for whale watching and other sea life, Big Sur for world class vistas, Avila Beach for surfing and swimming and sunbathing. Even Santa Barbara is just only an hour and a half away! But the best part of this house is coming back from a great outing and relaxing with friends or family in the cheerful, cozy atmosphere, or waking to the sound of the Mission chimes downtown.
