Casita Location: Bella Vista Casita is located in the Stagecoach Hills Neighborhood of Taos County, El Prado, New Mexico, within walking distance of the Rio Grande Gorge National Monument, 7 miles from the historic gorge bridge, 20 miles from Taos Ski Valley and 13 miles from the historic Taos Plaza.
Accommodations: Large one room studio casita with kitchenette and private bath.
Long to get-away, really get-away to a place of peace, quiet and tranquility? Visit Bella Vista Casita. Experience 360 degree views from this hill-top casita part of the host's 10 acres of rolling sage brush, pinon and juniper. Be wowed by the dark skies of Taos as you sit in the hot tub located next door in the host's walled garden or from the casita's private patio. Both great for viewing the milky way.
Open living in a very private, custom, studio casita with high tongue and groove aspen wood deiling, thick plaster walls, saltillo Mexican tile floors with in-floor heat, and tumbled travertine kitchenette (no stove) and travertine bathroom. Designated dining and living areas. Huge wood framed picture windows and French doors let in the expansive views of the sage covered mesa and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range in the near distance. Large skylight for night sky viewing from comfortable memory foam queen bed. Semi-Mexican decor w/very comfortable designated living area. Enjoy outside dining on the patio under the portal (porch). Private carport and entrance.
Elevation: 7,300 feet.
Summer: Nights are cool and invigorating and days usually fresh and comfortable w/temps range 82-89 during the day and 58-62 during the night. Double rainbows are a regular occurrence.
Lots of sun and no humidity year round. Incredible sunsets and sunrises.
Winter: super powder in the mountains and very little snow down below.
Fully stocked kitchenette w/ microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, electric griddle, foreman grill. No indoor oven/stove top. There is a gas BBQ outside under the porch for grilling. Indoor dining table area and outdoor table and chairs. No air conditioning. Standing fan provided.
Activities: World class downhill and cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Best fly fishing. Balloon rides, mountain biking/hiking. Walking: dirt trails, gorge trail and Taos Mountain trails. Museums, galleries, entertainment and great restaurants.
