About the host
Your host
We’re Nick & Zach, we’re both MA natives and Zach grew up coming to the Cape every summer as a kid and every chance he could as an adult. We feel so lucky to have this place and feel even luckier to be able to share it with others. We love spending time down here with friends and family, hosting a "Garden Party" every spring as the flowers are blooming, and watching our neices and nephews experience some of our favorite Mashpee/Cape Cod activities.
Why they chose this property
We were thrilled when we first visited Quippish Road--it's close enough to the bridge to avoid most Cape traffic, right off 28 to be close to lots of good food, fun beaches, and amenities, yet tucked away on a quiet dirt road that makes you feel like you're off the beaten path. Every time we come down we immediately feel more relaxed, comfortable, and at ease. Zach's favorite thing to do is read (and nap) in the hammocks. Nick's favorite is to curl up by the fire in the Winter watching a good movie.
What makes this property unique
There are lots of good spots to stay on the Cape, and plenty closer to the beach than us, but we happen to think our home is pretty special. In each season there are new things to discover in the large yard. We not only allow pets, but love hosting them and hearing about their adventures on the Cape and in our fully fenced in yard. The outdoor shower is absolutely divine and we push the limits of taking all our showers out there! From just after the last frost to just before the first we keep it on and love looking at the stars under the hot water. The backyard has everything you could need, a sitting area by the fire, two large picnic tables for meals and activities, a Rhodedendron grove where we hang the hammocks, and some green space for the kids and dogs to run about.
Despite maintaining its quaint cottage vibes, we're also proud that the house is well-equipped with the latest tech from high speed wifi, a smart tv, the wirelessly connected speaker system, a smart lock, backup internet if the power goes out, and the ability to troubleshoot almost anything remotely so if you're running into issues with the ACs or Wifi, we can see exactly what's going on from wherever we are and help you out.
Finally, we're a very "green" home, fitting for our image as a garden retreat! We have solar panels on the house that provides 90-100% of the energy for our home, high efficiency heat pumps and hot water, and recycled paper products throughout the house.
