About this property
N L Tahoe Cabin w/ Lake & Mt Views-Location-Attractions-Inviting
This welcoming Brockway Lakeview Cabin is perched on a hillside above Brockway & Kings Beach, in N Lake Tahoe.
***Going through evaluating if the balance of the newest codes, high (flat) Fees for only having a one bedroom -vs- say a four bedroom STR license renewal.
Is worth it at this time and will it be sustainable in the future - are the CA TOT taxes really helping our community?
With the Inspections I went through, there are new and added codes, a power push, extremely high fees and little time to schedule due to multiple and rolling schedules. I am now questioning the Licensing Inspectors himself as I have been given mix matched information. The delay has cost the summer season of rental. Therefore I apologize to you all too!!! - and more - Please check back in mid July.***
{A Non Smoking Property}
This open and airy retreat boasts excellent views of the Lake. A rustically romantic ambiance and tasteful furnishings will make you feel instantly at home. This restored 1947 summer use cabin offers the best of historic Tahoe charm and is located just yards west of the California-Nevada border on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. This area, known as historic Brockway, has been a resort destination since the 19th century. This is a small quiet quaint cabin & furnishings are on the small side too.
Nestled between Kings Beach to the west and Crystal Bay, NV to the east, the cabin is in historic area known as Stateline &/or Brockway within easy reach of conveniences such as grocery stores, restaurants, casinos, movie theater, mini golf, laundromat, and carwash, to name a few.
A variety of activities are easily accessible:
Less than .8 Mile (or) 10 minute walk for most to The Sanctuary Building where they offer acupuncture, massage and pilates.
(Directly adjacent to the Soule Domain Restaurant, Crystal Bay (CBC), Cal/Neva, Biltmore & Nugget Casinos where they also offer dinning, comedy, live music, extra parking, etc…).
Seasonal recreation venues are just 1 mile away such as:
driving range, golf, and miniature golf for some old fashioned family fun
Outdoor fun: kayaking, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, sunbathing, sand volleyball, and water sports rentals can be found right at Kings Beach State Beach .7 mile from the cabin.
Summer offers live music events on the state Beaches are in Tahoe City and Kings Beach as well as Truckee Amphitheater.
Winter offers live music events in various Restaurants, Casino’s and Ski areas.
Several top ski areas are close by:
Northstar and Diamond Peak are just 8 miles,
Mt. Rose is just 14 miles away,
Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are 18 miles away,
The cabin's great room is sun-filled space with exposed-beam ceilings, a rock-faced gas fireplace, and leather seating perfect for curling up with a good book. Screen from the wifi/ruku selections on the large screen television, or simply relax with a favorite beverage as you admire the view of the blue waters of Lake Tahoe through the expansive windows. The adjacent kitchen is great for simple vacation meals, and the rock patio. Perfect for picnicking, relaxing, listening to the sounds of a beach town amongst the birds and watching the sky.
The bedroom has a sliding glass door leading onto the spacious front wood wrap around deck, providing a wonderful view of the Lake and mountains. And emergency exits on either end.
The bathroom includes a charming vintage claw-foot tub with shower.
Small indoor kitchen, with double induction burner.
Helpful hint: Buy or bring pre-made, ready to heat up meals, or buy an extra to go order, to simple heat up rather than fully cook.
Thank you for not preparing greasy foods &/or foods with lingering smells (examples: bacon, sausage, curry, etc...) indoors, especially near check out date.
Cabin living: No garbage disposal or dishwasher, please scrape excess food in trash before rinsing.

PLEASE NOTE=
Scientist believe 20 million people existed on all of earth in the Ancient Roman days.
In current day 20 million people visit Lake Tahoe Annually.
Thank you for being mindful, & cleaning up after yourself and other human species, pass it on.
This is a relaxing, healthy retreat with views & fresh air here on the property.
No heavy partiers (not that kind of wild life here, please)!
NO SMOKING property! If you smoke cigarettes you will be asked to leave and no refund will be available. No exceptions- Health, Fire and more...

Please help us to stay relaxed and on time as best as we can; we do not take early check ins or outs. If you you need different hours please inquire within for a half day rate. Please, do not 'just show up' early ; we will contact you when the cabin is ready. Thank you for being on time for departure.

Vehicles:
This cabin has reserved parking for ONE guest vehicle.
The driveway is short and the road to the cabin is steep and may be somewhat challenging in the winter.
If you need additional parking our local casino’s is approx .2 miles (approx 5 minute walk-&/or- less than $5 taxi) which also offers 24hr security (check in with security/main desk and for a nominal fee can leave longer than four hours).
Cold Season:
This is a 1947 historic summer use cabin restored. The cabin is best suited for spring -fall. I am the one to make it habitable for year round use and at the time I never imagined I would be offering the general public to stay. There is a regulated thermostat and the ambient temperature is approx 65 degrees (that is warm for winter)(especially in an old cabin). * It can still feel cold. Pack accordingly.*
WINTER:
A four-wheel drive and/or All wheel may be required in the winter months & is highly suggested much other times.
I understand if you are (a winter traveler) desiring to come up here rain, snow or shine and want to give you the opportunity to research places that are a guarantee if it is blizzarding.
Please remember this is a 1947 summer use cabin, not a hotel.
Die Hards Only - (storms in historic summer use cabins are not a time for luxury};
(ie., expect cold in the romantic setting).
Heat & other utilities should be conserved during storms.
I hope we will have beautiful weather for your visiting dates. But if not, we have learned the hard way it is not a place to rent when it is actively blizzarding feet (-vs- inches) out .
We only rent to winter visitors flexible enough to reschedule for non heavy storms days, pack for it, not completely wifi dependent. If you are interested but uncertain I'm happy to help watch dates and the weather too.
Holidays thru February:
Best between storms; please watch the forecast.. - or - We look forward to seeing you in the spring snow conditions
Winter/Spring Conditions - Typically March and on.
For many reasons my visitors should know: this is a 1947 summer cabin that I have updated to live year round.
House Keeping:
Bring inside shoes (slippers).
We rent to adults only, (children may accompany parents).
Cabin is equipped with all the supplies one would need to keep up with a guests basic daily routine.
House keepers are on the front line these days, please help us stay as safe as we can!
This which allows us the privilege to offer a vacation cabin to visitors. Thank you for helping to stay on time which helps stay on time.
Since covid we have been extremely inundated with new concerns (virus) and heavier work (ex: cooking on vacation).
There are plenty of household supplies out for you to maintain your environment and there are more sponges, cleaning supplies, under the sink, broom in closet, etc.. should you need.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can be of assistance, or you like to schedule a secondary maid service.

About the host
Hosted by Stella - &/or- JS
Lived in Tahoe for most of my life, high elevation 8,500 and lots of snow is instinctual for me. This Cabin however sits at a nice lower elevation of approx 6,600 ft and a lot less snow. I also run a small private clinical skincare on the property. If you are interested to book an appointment while you are here, please free to contact us also at tahoeskincare.com
Why they chose this property
I wanted to live lower elevation with the things I was accustomed to: forest, lake views but with easier access to town and the lake.
I also owned two (rescue) wolves at the time and specifically needed the forest (we walked away from civilization) and they could have their own space (for me near town and trails).

What makes this property unique
Has it all:
Privacy yet close to Town.
Peaceful, Mountains and Lake Views yet the Casino's are walking distance if you want to dine, see some music or gamble.
Relaxing &/or clinical skincare services offered by appointment only in our licensed studio office on property; TahoeSkinCare.com & feel free to contact me for more info.
You can back country the back yard (any season). Even a launch sight for para gliders.
I can walk to the lake. And all more. This area is also rich in random history (& entertainment) (& much more):
800's Brockway Hot Springs, Hotel/Casino (Comstock family - gold miners found silver), - (John C Freemont, Kit Carson, Mark Twain, etc..)...
1900's Bonanza (TV show: Cartwright Ranch, Hoss, etc...), Rat Pack:(Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Marilyn Monroe, etc..), Mafia (see Crystal Bay casinos underground tunnel, etc...also their golf course is 5 min away). Charlie Chapmen also stayed in this area (legend has it he entertainers for the entertainers stayed in or near a cabin now converted into a restaurant called the Soul Domain). Fun fact: this rental cabin was built in that era (1947).
