This welcoming Brockway Lakeview Cabin is perched on a hillside above Brockway & Kings Beach, in N Lake Tahoe.
***Going through evaluating if the balance of the newest codes, high (flat) Fees for only having a one bedroom -vs- say a four bedroom STR license renewal.
Is worth it at this time and will it be sustainable in the future - are the CA TOT taxes really helping our community?
With the Inspections I went through, there are new and added codes, a power push, extremely high fees and little time to schedule due to multiple and rolling schedules. I am now questioning the Licensing Inspectors himself as I have been given mix matched information. The delay has cost the summer season of rental. Therefore I apologize to you all too!!! - and more - Please check back in mid July.***

Please, do not 'just show up' early ; we will contact you when the cabin is ready. Thank you for being on time for departure.

Vehicles:
This cabin has reserved parking for ONE guest vehicle.
The driveway is short and the road to the cabin is steep and may be somewhat challenging in the winter.

Cold Season:
This is a 1947 historic summer use cabin restored. The cabin is best suited for spring -fall. I am the one to make it habitable for year round use and at the time I never imagined I would be offering the general public to stay. There is a regulated thermostat and the ambient temperature is approx 65 degrees (that is warm for winter)(especially in an old cabin). * It can still feel cold. Pack accordingly.*
WINTER:
A four-wheel drive and/or All wheel may be required in the winter months & is highly suggested much other times.
I understand if you are (a winter traveler) desiring to come up here rain, snow or shine and want to give you the opportunity to research places that are a guarantee if it is blizzarding.
Please remember this is a 1947 summer use cabin, not a hotel.
Die Hards Only - (storms in historic summer use cabins are not a time for luxury};
(ie., expect cold in the romantic setting).
Heat & other utilities should be conserved during storms.
I hope we will have beautiful weather for your visiting dates. But if not, we have learned the hard way it is not a place to rent when it is actively blizzarding feet (-vs- inches) out .
We only rent to winter visitors flexible enough to reschedule for non heavy storms days, pack for it, not completely wifi dependent. If you are interested but uncertain I'm happy to help watch dates and the weather too.
Holidays thru February:
Best between storms; please watch the forecast.. - or - We look forward to seeing you in the spring snow conditions
Winter/Spring Conditions - Typically March and on.
For many reasons my visitors should know: this is a 1947 summer cabin that I have updated to live year round.
House Keeping:
Bring inside shoes (slippers).
We rent to adults only, (children may accompany parents).
Cabin is equipped with all the supplies one would need to keep up with a guests basic daily routine.
House keepers are on the front line these days, please help us stay as safe as we can!
This which allows us the privilege to offer a vacation cabin to visitors. Thank you for helping to stay on time which helps stay on time.
Since covid we have been extremely inundated with new concerns (virus) and heavier work (ex: cooking on vacation).
There are plenty of household supplies out for you to maintain your environment and there are more sponges, cleaning supplies, under the sink, broom in closet, etc.. should you need.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if we can be of assistance, or you like to schedule a secondary maid service.
