About this property

La Rocaille - Gite with stunning Minervois views and private pool

Situated in an idyllic location, La Rocaille is a single storey gite with stunning panoramic views. It is approximately 6km (10 minutes) drive to the nearest village, which has all the basic amenities including boulangerie, bar/cafe, small shop & restaurants.

Equipped to a high standard; there is a large open-plan kitchen/dining room/living room (with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, DVD, radio/CD player) opening onto a sunny terrace. There are two bedrooms (1 king-size, 1 twin) & a double sofa bed in the sitting room. There is a shower room and separate WC.

The gite has a large private garden with a swimming pool, BBQ and outside furniture. The large (8.5m x 4m) private pool is for the sole use of our guests at La Rocaille, it is not shared with anyone else. It has a surrounding sunbathing/patio area. The pool area also is enclosed by a safety fence with lockable gate.

Linen and towels (including beach towels for the pool) are provided.

Sorry no smoking or pets.

La Rocaille is situated close to Canal-du-Midi (a World Heritage Site) which provides numerous opportunities for walking, cycling and boat trips. Also nearby is Lac-de-Jourres with its facilities for water sports, picnics & swimming. Beautiful Mediterranean beaches are a 50 minutes drive away (Gruissan plage and Narbonne plage are the closest).

The gite sits in a beautiful and peaceful rural location which has minimal light pollution, thereby allowing for night sky viewing from our terrace and garden. Star clusters, shooting stars and the moon can be seen on clear nights.

The Gorge-de-la-Cesse is within walking distance of La Rocaille and offers plenty of opportunities for walking or cycling, with beautiful views all around. Carcassonne, Beziers and Narbonne are all within easy reach as is the medieval village of Minerve. Minerve is often cited as one of the most beautiful villages in France and can be reached by a 15-20 minute drive alongside the Gorge-de-la-Cesse. Several of the Cathar Castles are also within an easy drive from the gite.

A wonderful place to stay surrounded by beautiful scenery. La Rocaille was extremely clean, comfortable and very homely with a fabulous pool. Lovely base to relax by the pool or explore from!

Great size property for family of 4, with teens, in a lovely quiet area but within short drive of amenities. For a family who loves the outdoors the location was fantastic with lots of walking trails, gorge walks, biking & water sport options. There are also lots of historic towns & castles to be explored. Owner was really friendly & helpful and provides lots of info at the property, as well as lots of books & games!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house with a pool – it had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The beds were amazingly comfortable, the pool was a godsend in the heat, and we enjoyed the great collection of DVDs (the boys didn’t even miss the WiFi, and it gave us a chance to fully switch off too!). The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and it was really clean. The views are stunning, the village is friendly with a great bakery, and the location is perfect for exploring. Leucate Plage was our favourite beach – much nicer than Narbonne Plage and only about 15 minutes further. Andrew was also incredibly helpful when our son needed a doctor (who we managed to see within a couple of hours in the local village) and during a power cut after a thunderstorm.All in all, a brilliant stay – thank you!

Wonderful

A lovely property in a beautiful setting with wonderful views towards the Pyrenees and very peaceful. Lovely places to visit, Minerve, Gorges d'Héric & Lagrasse to name a few and a lovely boat trip on the Canal du Midi from Homps which is nearby. The pool is great for cooling off and relaxing on the hot days. Would highly recommend and Andrew was very helpful and replied quickly to our messages.

Out mountain villa !

What a holiday ! What a perfect house ! This was truly amaziing. The house has absolutely everything to make you feel good. It is clear that the owner is a pro in renting out, they want their guests to be comfortable, In a fully equipped place, with handy guides and a nice place under the sun with the best pool in the world. Even the bbq is fully equipped. Absolutely recommended ! In our opinion the the house is actually higher standard than the pictures are showing. Great experience !

tolles Haus in wunderbarer Umgebung

Wir haben unsere Urlaubstage in einem tollen Haus in wunderbarer Umgebung sehr genossen. Das Haus ist als Ausgangspunkt für verschiedenste Unternehmungen super gelegen, wandern vor der Haustüre, nach Carcassonne und nach Narbonne ist es nicht weit und auch das Mittelmeer ist gut zu erreichen. Dank der Flexibilität von Andrew konnten wir unseren Aufenthalt auch noch um einige Tage verlängern.

Une magnifique semaine chez Andrew

Nous avons passé une semaine formidable chez Andrew qui est un hôte très réactif et a l'écoute de nos besoins. La maison est formidable, avec une magnifique vue sur le minervois, au milieu de la campagne, vous aurez donc une tranquillité absolue. Cette maison est tres ressourçante (peu de reseau et pas de wifi, ce qui ne nous a pas du tout dérangé). Tout etait très propre et le guide d'arrivée est tres claire malgré que la maison soit un peu compliqué a trouvé. (Mettez sur maps curiosité de Lauriole et vous trouvez tres facilement). Nous avons eu vers la fin du sejour un petit soucis avec l'evacuation des eaux et le lave vaisselle mais andrew a été tres réactif et nous a fait une petite remise sur le prix de la maison. Geste que nous avons particulièrement apprécié. N'hésitez plus foncez reserver ce petit coin de paradis !

Location, location, location, but….

Inderdaad, het uitzicht is fantastisch. Zwembad is heerlijk. En de eigenaar is super vriendelijk. Daarover geen klagen, maar om eerlijk te zijn Andrew, sommige zaken zijn minder goed bevallen. Allereerst iets wat we misschien hadden kunnen weten, maar wat eigenlijk voor een familie vakantiehuis niet echt meer van deze tijd is: er is geen wifi. En dat hoort eigenlijk echt wel bij deze tijd. Er is ook geen airco, er staan alleen twee wat verouderde de ventilatoren wat voor 6-persoons gezinshuis te weinig is. Dit is allemaal echter te overzien. Wat ons echt stoorde was de zeer gebrekkige schoonmaak, het huis was echt vies toen we het betraden (wat de eigenaar overigens netjes opgelost heeft), de douche loopt niet door waardoor je maar 2 minuten kunt douchen, en de doordringende geur van de septic tank. Die maakte de avonden op het terras, met het mooie uitzicht, een minder fijne ervaring. Voor ons geen huis om naar terug te keren.

Liebe Elaine, Lieber Andrew herzlichen Dank für 2 wundervolle Wochen in einem der schönsten Ferienhäuser das wir je hatten. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist traumhaft schön, der Pool wunderbar. Man hat hier völlige Ruhe und kann die Natur genießen, abends ebenso den Sternenhimmel. Die Gegend rund um Siran lädt zu schönen Ausflügen ein. Man kann sich mittelalterliche Städtchen wie Minerve und Lagrasse anschauen oder in die nahegelegenen Städte Carcassonne und Narbonne fahren. Auch zum Mittelmeer ist es nicht weit zu fahren. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können uns gut vorstellen, noch einmal unseren Urlaub in La Rocaille zu verbringen.

Un gîte au calme avec vue splendide

Nous avons passé d excellentes vacances en famille . La vue de la terrasse est magnifique et le gîte est perdu dans la montagne donc il y fait très calme. C est parfait pour les amoureux de la nature. Il y a beaucoup d espace et il y a tout ce qu il faut pour cuisiner. Tout est prévu pour passer un séjour agréable. La piscine est superbe et l eau est très propre. C est un super endroit à conseiller et à retenir. De plus les propriétaires sont très sympas et très réactifs aux messages envoyés.

Endroit très calme avec vue superbe

La Rocaille est suffisamment spacieuse et confortable. Elle est perchée sur une colline avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée du Minervois et très éloignée de toute autre habitation. Tous les équipements nécessaires sont présents et fonctionnels, et la piscine est un grand plus. Andrew et Elaine se sont montrés très aimables et diligents pour répondre à toutes nos questions, et nous avons obtenu de leur part toutes les inforamtions pour passer un bon séjour. A recommander !

Prachtige vakantiewoning met alles erop en eraan. Je voelt je onmiddellijk thuis. Alle comfort is voorhanden. Als je rust nodig hebt is dit de perfecte locatie.
