This cottage was a suitable choice for our family’s winter getaway. It is well furnished, clean, and its kitchen is thoughtfully equipped. This cottage is located in a tranquil neighborhood and not far from ski resort. The host is responsive to our inquiries. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
We had a fantastic stay at The Boat House Cottage! Easy to find and only 20 mins away from Shaver Lake. When we arrived, everything was spotless. The heater was on so it was a comfy temperature, and there was a little basket of snacks. Everything is well-thought out, from a stocked kitchen (with two coffee machines) to extra blankets and puzzles/games around the house. There’s a large smart TV and strong WiFi too. Super cozy for our winter getaway! Highly recommend.
L’hébergement est très bien situé, proche de plusieurs lacs. La cuisine est très bien équipée. Nous avons passé un excellent sejour

I enjoy hiking, exploring the local parks, and connecting with guests who share a love for nature. Why they chose this property
I chose the Meadow Lakes community as the location for The Boat House Cottage because it offers a unique combination of natural beauty, tranquility, and convenience that is perfect for a getaway. Nestled at an elevation of 4,452 feet in the Sierra Nevada, Meadow Lakes is a peaceful, unincorporated community surrounded by stunning landscapes, with easy access to both Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks.
One of the things I enjoy most about this neighborhood is its serene atmosphere. The community is set amidst towering pines and offers a true sense of seclusion without being too far from modern amenities. The area is rich in history, originally developed in the 1920s, and it retains a charming, rustic feel that makes it a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
What really sets Meadow Lakes apart is the private catch-and-release lake within the community. This serene spot is perfect for guests looking to enjoy a quiet afternoon of fishing or simply take in the natural beauty of the area. It's these little touches that make Meadow Lakes feel like a hidden gem in the Sierra Nevada.
Additionally, the proximity to Shaver Lake, just a short drive away, adds to the appeal of this location. Shaver Lake offers a variety of recreational activities throughout the year, from boating and fishing in the summer to skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. The scenic beauty of the lake, surrounded by granite mountains and pine forests, makes it one of my favorite places to unwind and connect with nature.
Overall, I love being a host in this neighborhood because it allows me to share this incredible slice of the Sierra Nevada with guests from all over. Whether they are here to explore the great outdoors or simply relax in a peaceful setting, I know they will fall in love with Meadow Lakes and the surrounding area just as I have.
