Summer Festival, East Dorset Vermont, Cape Style 4-season Vacation Home,
Our house is beautifully situated on 3 acres, top of a hill in a clearing. Large covered porch faces east across a meadow towards the Green Mountain National Forest and the notch carved by the Mad Tom Brook. The other side of the house has peaceful views into the forest and beautiful rock outcroppings. The property has been in the family since the 1940's, however this house is new, built in 2011 with modern comforts. The house has four bedrooms, and 2 full baths.
Located one mile from Summer Festival equestrian event.

We had a very pleasant stay here with friends. The property has interesting boulders to play on and woods to explore, and there is a beautiful forest trail just a couple of hundred yards down the road. It's located on a quiet country road about a one-minute drive off Route 7 through the village of East Dorset (don't blink). The house is perched at the top of a steep driveway, and the walk from the driveway to the front door would be challenging for people with mobility issues. The house had everything we needed, with the exception of a modern gas grill (our fault for not reading closer... and the owners graciously offered us use of their charcoal weber when we reached out). All in all, a comfortable house in a beautiful part of Vermont.

Absolutely wonderful stay!
We stayed here with our family of 7 adults and two young children. Despite the large group of people, this house was incredibly comfortable. The bedrooms were large and full of light. The main area was great for hanging out as we cooked in the very well stocked and designed kitchen. We managed to have a fire every night in the front yard and wish we had more time to utilize the fire pit in the back yard and the wood stove. Margaret was very attentive throughout our stay. There was a thunderstorm at one point and Margaret contacted me within minutes of the storm starting to let me know where the candles etc. were. A tree had fallen down at the bottom of the driveway and she had someone there to take care of it within hours of me notifying her. She was in touch throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable.
Lastly, there are lots of great activities nearby - Mad Tom orchard, great hiking, Manchester for shopping and great restaurants, Dorset farmer's market.
This was a dream Vermont vacation for us and we hope to return soon!

Quiet Vermont Retreat!
We stayed in this beautiful home to tour Vermont's great fall colors. The home was exactly as shown in the photos! The wood burning stove was a great treat on the cool Vermont fall nights. Owner was there right away for any needs we may have had. We would recommend this home, it was a perfect hub to tour the surrounding fall foliage! Very quiet neighborhood and easy access.

I recommend this Idyllic Vermont homestead!
This home is a quintessential Vermont Green Mountain experience. The natural setting will easily take your breath away! It's nestled privately among the scenic Green Mountains, but was an easy location to take in ski slopes, galleries, great dining and pretty villages that held unexpected surprises. It can easily accommodate a large family gathering, but also felt very intimate for the two of us. As a smartly designed new home, it had an open floor plan and convenient amenities I hoped for, but with the atmosphere and distinction of a century old home. Whether I wanted to explore all that was offered nearby, or just cozy up with a book in front of the fire or on the porch, I was left at the end of my stay feeling uniquely rejuvenated in spirit. No doubt, I will return here to recapture that feeling.
