We are near Luray Caverns, Cave ridge vineyard, and many hiking trails in George Washington National Forest. This renovated 4-bedroom retreat offers 3 queen beds, 1 bunk bed, and 2 twin beds, perfect for families or groups of friends. With 2 bathrooms featuring showers, hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, your comfort is guaranteed. * 2 living areas. *Gorgeous Mountain Views that wrap around the back deck, bedroom, kitchen & dining areas. *Indulge in stunning sunsets from the deck & stargazing at night.
* New mini- splits in each room for your comfort.
* Game Room - fully packed with a pool table, foosball, and arcade games like Pacman & Street Fighter for some nostalgia.
* 65-inch Samsung TV - gather around the big screen and enjoy movie night.

Our newly remodeled and redesigned rancher cottage got a complete overhaul this year. Each bedroom has its own unique quaint, rustic yet modern charm with a cozy cottage vibe. You will notice a vibrant yet elegant color palette that blends in seamlessly for an eclectic atmosphere.

Our semi-circular gravel driveway can easily fit 6 cars. The house is situated on a level street, ensuring easy access and smooth driving conditions, especially during the snow season

The upstairs living area is great for winding down with a glass of wine and some vinyl records. Or sit at the dining table and enjoy board games with family or friends.
Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen including a rice cooker, electric cooker, spice cabinet, crock pot, blender and charcuterie board.

* Outdoor Space - Please enjoy the upper back deck with the patio furniture and fireplace and the patio below with the hammocks.

We hope you enjoy the uniqueness of our newly renovated cottage as much as we have enjoyed putting it together. We welcome you to make new memories at your home away from home.

THINGS TO NOTE for your comfort and safety:
* We provide all the basic supplies and essentials listed. Please make sure to bring extra supplies as you need them.
* A laundry basket and a luggage rack are placed in the bedroom closets.
* Stargazer Cottage welcomes families with kids and has a baby gate leading downstairs but please note we are not child-proofed. Make sure there is adult supervision at all times.
* Please make sure all doors and sliding doors are securely closed before leaving the house during your stay.

* No Smoking - Our home is a strict no-smoke zone
* No Parties/Events
* No unregistered guests allowed. This helps us follow local ordinances on maximum occupancy and keep our home comfortable and safe for everyone.

This cozy cabin was the perfect place for a reunion of friends and their families. We appreciated the amenities, including 2 fire pit options, toys, games and record playing station, as well as a well stocked kitchen. The surrounding scenery was gorgeous and the cabin was located close to some hiking trails and a brewery.

Beautiful home in Basye

Didn’t know much about the area but came to meet up with friends from NC since it is about the same distance for both of us (coming from Philly). The house was beautiful. You can tell it has been meticulously updated. There was plenty of space for me and my husband, along with our toddler and my friend and her 4-year-old daughter. Communication was easy and reliable.

We love being a host and sharing all the amazing adventures Basye, VA has to offer. We welcome you to our cozy, rustic home away from home to make some awesome memories with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

We are located next to Bryce Ski Resort (4 mins from the house), with mountain views in the winter, hiking trails close by, Shenandoah caverns, Cave Ridge vineyard, and coziness of the rancher cottage on a quiet level street - especially helpful driving during in the winter snow.

What makes this property unique

Stargazer Cottage is located on a quiet street. Bryce Ski Resort is literally in the backyard and a few minute's drive from the cottage. Get in a brisk early morning walk up to the top of the ski slope in 10- 12 minutes from the cottage.

The cottage faces the North mountains and you can get mountain views in the wintertime from the deck, bedroom and kitchen. Our plan is to thin out some of the trees so we can enjoy unobstructed views year-round from the deck.

Although surrounded by friendly neighbors, it is quiet and peaceful. We ask that you be mindful and respectful of the neighbors. On a clear night, you can sit out on the deck with the telescope (provided) and stargaze into the night. Kids and grownups alike will be delighted to see deer, and rabbits, and hear the woodpecker in the backyard.

Lake Laura is located a short 5-minute drive from the house. Spend the entire summer day lounging on the grassy beach while the kids swim and play in tranquil waters. You can also enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding or just floating with friends. You can hike around the lake, which is an easy 2.5-mile loop.

For the adventurous souls, Bryce Resort which is less than a five-minute drive from the cottage is open to skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summertime.
