cute and close to downtown restaurants, plus super dog friendly

My husband and I came for a weekend to see our sons who are students at UF. We needed a dog friendly place and this is it—the back is fenced so we could let them out while we were back there—so easy. The house was well appointed—nice tile, linens, and fixtures, better than I expected. It is also close to downtown restaurants and pretty close to UF too. “Tiny” home but actually plenty of room. It would have been fine to have one of my sons stay upstairs in the loft so this place is also good for couples with older kids too (staircase probably not great for preschoolers).

We immediately noticed the dampness about the interior. The humidity level was too hig. The air was wet. We noticed all of the safety and health issues documented in the photos provided and listed below: Interior humidity level was high. The air was heavy and damp. Mold and moss (1/4th to 1/2 inch) growing all over the soffits. See photographs----- It is a virtual impossibility to prevent mold from infiltrating the interior air, given the amount of growth at the very site that the air intake originates Dusty interior window seals Dirty exterior window seals----- Opening the windows to allow fresh air to enter and circulate was not an optionbecause the dirt on the exterior window frames would have blown into the livingspace. Further, opening the windows would create a physical safety risk. The front door did not shut and seal completely. ----- A 1/8th to 1/4th inch space/gap remained -- even when both the deadbolt and thedoorknob were engaged. See the photographs. Nothing about the front door was safe or secure. This door could very easily be pried open with a screwdriver or a similartool. Rear patio gate could not be locked. ----- Anyone could simply enter the back patio. The adjacent property was located lessthan 5’ from the gate. Dirty furniture. See photograph. ----- Unfortunately, the photograph does not show (due to lighting) just how dirty thechair was. Mold growth on outdoor furniture (cabinetry and seating) Dirty buildup on the rear sliding

Whitecoat ceremony

I hate to give a negative review but hopefully it will help you for future guests….Upon entering there were 6 dead roaches in the kitchen. Although it is great that they were dead, it was clear no one had been at the property for a surface clean or walk through before we arrived. Coffee pot didn’t work and not enough mugs for guests if it had worked. I reached out twice to have no return message through app or return phone call. You can’t control the neighbors but they woke us up at 2:30 am having a grand time. Their noise level was over the top. I hope these suggestions help with future bookings.

The house is clean and overall as advertised. The instructions for access indicated a keyless entry but this was not correct there was a hidden key. The home is clean but there is limited privacy with the rooms having no or a loose barn door. The coffee maker was not working. There were two driveways and not clearly marked one was for the neighboring house. The neighbor’s parked what appeared to be our driveway and were playing extremely loud music at 2 in the morning for about 45 minutes. On a Saturday night the neighborhood got very loud after midnight with passing cars playing loud music. Overall the place is nice and small but clean. The coffee machine I am sure will be prepared. The owners can’t control the neighbors and the local traffic

Safety of property not address

The property is next to another with same owner. There is a gate connecting the two which cannot be locked. There was a huge party next door and it overflowed to our deck and neither gate could be locked. Front porch light and motion lights did not work which created issues when crowd congregated on our porch.Communication with Vrbo went unanswered and host said he was not responsible for inconsiderate neighbors, never addressed safety issue of gates accessible by neighbors all night until 4:15 AM. Disappointing

The gates in between the home do not lock since there is a shared laundry room on the back of the property as stated in the listing. This guest notified me that there was a party at the adjoining home after midnight. We responded first thing in the morning as soon as we saw the message. I Spoke with the guest multiple times through VRBO and also contacted the guest at the adjoining property as parties are against our rules. This was an inconvenience to this guest and we apologized for the inconvenience as well as issued a refund. So not sure what else we could have done one property was trashed and then this guest got a refund for something we had no control over. Then even after issuing a refund she threatened us with a review and then as you see left us a bad one. We wish the guest had contacted the police as we had nothing to do with the party and it was a violation of our rules. At the end of the day as host we went above and beyond for this giuest and literally got nothing for it no rental revenue, a bad review, and constant harassment from Bernadette. We had even allowed them to check in 3 hours early. While the whole situation was unfortunate this guest was very difficult, and we do not recommend. Even after leaving her review, she is still texting and making threats. Not sure what else we could have done for Bernadette except get on the phone with her and take a brow beating as well , but no thanks!
