This house was perfect for our group! We loved the backyard and pool, and the house was very well-stocked everywhere (kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms). The host Julie was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We will be back!
The kitchen was prepared with everything we would need at home. The host of special care to provide more than most people would expect. She’s a super host.
If you are looking for a dream location to host a large family/friend gathering in the central IN area, trust me - THIS IS IT! We had over 20 people stay at the property for a a few nights for the Indy 500 weekend and my family could not have had more fun, felt more at peace and at home. The owners had the home immaturely clean and prepared with more sleeping spots that we could have come up with ourselves. The game room provided constant entertainment and even with a rain soaked Saturday, the outdoor pool area and lounging areas were amazing. The property is historic, mansion-esque and yet has a small cozy at home feel. Julie the owner and her team are the best owners I have dealt with on vrbo among dozens and I hope our family can do it again next year!
Great house, pool, and host! This was the perfect place for our large group. Plenty of space and fun activities for the kids. Julie was a great host and very communicative. Highly recommended and would stay here again. Thanks, Julie!
This was the perfect spot for our family who came in from all corners of the country. The pool and back yard had something for everyone and plenty of seating to eat, chat, and play games. Lots to do around the area too. Hope we can come back again.
Property was great. Plenty of room to spread out for our whole family of 16. Host was great and very responsive. Pool was perfect and got used every day. Would highly recommend.
Very interesting house with a lot of character. We had 11 adults stay here and all were very comfortable. The backyard is the highlight of the location. The hosts were very responsive, and we all enjoyed the stay. I would say 12 adults is max with lots of extra capacity if you have children with the adults. The refrigerator is a bit small for a house that holds so many people but was not an issue for us as we were gone most of the time. I would also make sure your friends/family can handle stairs as there is only one bedroom on the main level. (A beautiful big bedroom!) I definitely recommend the property if you are in the area.
We were coming to the Indy area for the FFA National Convention. Julie was an amazing host and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. She tailored the house to exactly like we needed it and even gave us options for around town. She was extremely responsive and I am so honored that we got to be her first stay. We felt so welcomed with a note and a basket full of items for our students. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
The house was beautiful. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. Julie made sure there were extra beds in all the rooms. The kids loved the pool. The adults loved the outdoor sitting area. We made breakfasts and dinners at the house. We got to enjoy our time together. We watched a movie on the big screen. It was a hot weekend so a few of the rooms were warm but we had fans and were able to cope. Julie was very communicative before the visit to make sure we had everything we needed. The pantries were stocked. We were so fortunate to have extra items available for cooking. We have not experienced that at other houses we've stayed. The location was on the street curve which was a bit strange but plenty of room for our 4 cars in the driveway. We went to a strawberry festival nearby.
This property is AMAZING and absolutely perfect for a large group. My three sisters, our husbands and our parents all gathered here to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday. So much space to hang out together and still have privacy when needed. Outdoor space is amazing, while it was still a bit chilly during our stay, we were able to sit out in the sun and enjoy the large outdoor area. The large dining table allowed all 10 of us to sit and have coffee in the morning and play games in the evening. The kitchen is the BEST stocked kitchen I have ever stayed in (and my husband and I travel A LOT). The decor is amazing all over the huge house and there are so many great areas for kids if you have them traveling with you. We did not on this trip, but this property would be PERFECT for us to all gather again and bring the kids and grands - we were making plans to do that BEFORE we left the property! The location is amazing - just a short walk to all downtown Fortville has to offer - we had dinner one night at the Mexican restaurant on Main Street - great margaritas, food, and service. Dad's birthday dinner was at Cortona's (a family favorite), and they were magnificent as always. We had lunch at Du Lit (recommended by our host, Julie), and it was fantastic and, on our walk back to the house, we stopped at another favorite, The Foxgardin for a drink. Julie is an amazing host. Communication was great! and kindly left a birthday gift for Dad! Thank you, Julie!
Having visited this house twice for family weekends we have always found it well stocked, clean and the host very responsive. Most of our time has been spent in the pool, however this year it was split between that and the games room. On leaving the property everyone in our group of 16 (that could talk) were asking if we were returning next year. So many fun memories have been made.
I kept asking myself, Is this just someone’s house? There’s literally EVERYTHING you could need besides your own food at this property! We had a group of travelers from all over the country (20 people) and even when there was a hiccup with the pool heater the host took care of us to our liking right away. I appreciated all her communication, guided binder in the house with suggestions, checklist etc. the pictures don’t do this house justice. We can’t wait to come back and make this an annual stop when visiting Indiana!
