The house is beautiful and has everything you need for a perfect beach trip. Loved relaxing by the pool and hot tub in the evenings. The 4x4 beach and Shell Yeah! made a beach trip to remember.

Shell Yeah did not disappoint! The house was updated, clean and provided everything we needed. The outside showers were perfect for showering off the kids and sand toys. The lower level gave us so much space for beach gear, sandy shoes, laundry access and an extra fridge. The pool was a huge hit with the littles and adults alike! This was our first trip to the 4x4 area and we will be back! We had a blast exploring the area and the beach. Did we see horses? YES! Every single day! Beautiful. Natural. Wild. This trip included Grandparents, Son, DIL and 2 littles ages 3 and 6. Thank you Blake and Vicky for helping us Build Memories!

Secluded and private

Excellent property. Very private and secluded with easy access to the beach. The pool was an excellent addition. It was a great relaxation spot after being on the beach.

Fun Family Getaway

We had a great time at the house. We went to the beach, went on a charter fishing trip and a dolphin cruise in Manteo. We also got to see a bunch of the wild horses. We had so much fun.

We had a great time! Vicky and Blake were very responsive to all our questions and the house was comfortable and reasonably well-equipped for cooking. The only thing we couldn’t find was a cutting board, but we didn’t think to ask for one so that was on us. The house was very easy to access from the beach. Highly recommend.

Nice Carova Hideaway

House was very clean, in good repair, and well stocked with everything you would need. Owners were very responsive and the check-in process could not have been easier. Would stay here again in the future!

I see a lot of terrible reviews for many places but this is NOT one of those! The house was exactly as described. It was well kept, clean, close to the beach, and a great experience all around. I highly recommend! If you are lucky enough to rent a property owned by Blake (there’s more than one) you won’t regret it!

Great Family Getaway

The hosts were amazing! The house and property were beautiful! There were so many great memories we were able to make with our family. Ranging from the wild horses that we watched while drinking our morning coffee on the covered deck to having fun at the beach with our children. Just an all around awesome experience. We can't wait to come back and do it again!

Lovely home in a lovely place

Really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, relaxing and we saw several horses. House was perfect for our family, well equipped and clean. Much appreciated. We plan to return.

Hot tub was a welcome feature due to chilly April temps. Bathrooms were clean and house was well appointed.Some expected household items were unavailable (facial tissues, coffee filters, etc). Water filter on refrigerator needed replacement, laundry detergent was sparse. Generally overall cleanliness was good, however sand was found in beds, under rugs and on floors throughout and light fixtures, tabletops and other flat surfaces were dusty. Nails on decking need to be looked over, several poking up and at hazardous spots.

Weekend in Carova

We stayed for a long weekend as a family. The home had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The home many items needed for the beach including boogie boards, sand toys, chairs and an umbrella which was really wonderful!

Our family have been in the Outer Banks since the early 70's. We raised our 2 sons here and call the Outer Banks home. Carova is our vacation spot.

Why they chose this property

We built this house in 2016 with love. The location is special to us because we can get off the beaten path and relax. We are only 1 mile south of the Virginia state line where Falls Cape Park starts. There are miles of paths and very exciting historical findings within the park.

What makes this property unique

This house is unique to us because of the serene surroundings and the rare opportunity to live amongst the dunes and wild horses.
