Skier’s Paradise is the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the mountains. The house has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. There is an upstairs unit that was noisy during our particular stay, to no fault of the host. Perfect location to the slopes with a short, easy walk to the main lift.
Our host, Fred, was great! When we ran out of firewood he dropped some off so we could continue to enjoy a fire after spending the day skiing. The condo had everything we needed and the kids LOVED the bunk beds with their own TVs! Skiing was a very short walk which made it easy to make the most of the mountain. An easy drive to both Seven Springs and Laurel meant we could ski two places in a day and all three during our trip. We would definitely book again!
Nice property that is just a short walk to the Sunset Lift. Clean House with everything we needed. Nice relaxing by the fire in the evening after a long day of skiing.
This was just not for me. The layout and logistics were a nightmare. It was me and the dog and we could not walk through the place without running in to each other. Nothing made sense. There was a lamp blocking the TV that was at an odd angle. The window opened up to the neighbor's porch that was smoking. The bedroom is by the front door. There was only one portable AC unit, the kind that has the tube sticking out the window. The blinds hardly covered and it didn't cool the entire place! Other people also leave their dogs to bark all day. There were at least 11 different light switches and some of them controlled half an outlet but it was a guessing game to figure out what was going on. I needed to charge a medical device and almost didn't notice the outlet wasn't on. There are also electrical cords everywhere, strangulation and trip hazards! Including a loose cord in the bottom bunk. Utensils are missing in the kitchen and half the cookware is too scratched or stained.I'm sure this place is great when you are skiing all day and the flannel sheets make sense and you just need to crash. The bed was comfortable at least. I enjoyed the bullfrogs at the pond and the dog was chasing chipmunks

Hello Pamela,
We are truly sorry to hear that our place did not meet your expectations. We take all feedback very seriously and I personally inspect each issue mentioned by guests—your comments helped us make some necessary and valuable improvements!
You're right about the flannel sheets and this was an oversight. We’ve since upgraded to seasonally appropriate cotton bedding to ensure future guests are more comfortable.
Regarding the kitchen inventory, we have added new cookware and replaced the nonstick skillets. Even though these items were all new this past fall, they were already in poor shape. We appreciate you flagging this!
As for the AC, I completely understand your frustration. Due to HOA restrictions, we are only allowed to use portable-style AC units. That said, had I known you were having trouble, I absolutely would have helped. I have since updated the welcome instructions to include a tip to help circulate the cool air efficiently throughout the unit. The condo is a compact, 600 sq ft space, and the 12,000 BTU unit does the job well once airflow is optimized.
Regarding the extension cords, I didn’t see exactly what you experienced, but I did notice two cords (one being the bunk room TV cord) had been moved. That has been corrected.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are genuinely sorry that your stay was not satisfactory. We hope you will consider staying with us again as we have made improvements based directly on your feedback!
Thank you!
Fred

About the host

I live and raise my family on this mountain—it’s truly our favorite place in Pennsylvania. I’m a serial entrepreneur and a father, and this business gives me the flexibility to almost never miss a kids’ event while still being available whenever a guest needs something.
Why they chose this property
I started this business after moving here. We just couldn’t part with our vacation condo—it held too many special memories and was in the location we knew we wanted to settle in after raising our kids. Around the same time, Airbnb was starting to take off as a real business opportunity.
With my background as a contractor and as a local resident, I knew I could offer guests superior properties and a better overall experience. In life, when something is working, I’ve always believed in leaning in and making the most of it. That’s why it made sense to acquire more high-quality properties and grow from there.
What makes this property unique
We are confident that our units are second to none. With our strong local presence and dedication to guest satisfaction, our mission is to ensure that every visitor leaves wanting to return. We are focused on the long-term, and we take all feedback seriously—personally inspecting every issue that arises.
Our goal is for guests to feel truly welcome and to make each property feel like their own special place. We know that vacation time is precious and limited, which is why it’s our top priority to provide a clean, comfortable, and relaxing environment so every guest can make the most of it.
