Furnace Lake Overlook - near Pictured Rocks!

Pictured Rocks Family Rentals welcomes you to Furnace Lake Overlook. Beautiful home with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. Bedroom 1 has king bed and bunk beds with a sliding barn door separating them, while bedroom 2 has a queen bed. This home has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake but does not have lake access. The home has a nice deck on back with a heated 4+' above ground pool that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day (through Sept 15, 2025 this year). The master bath offers a cozy 2 person jetted tub to relax in after a long day on the trails with a separate glass block shower. There is not an outdoor hot tub at the home.

You'll love the serenity and the privacy of this home, yet how close you are to area attractions such as Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, waterfalls, hiking trails, beaches, etc. You are less than a mile from state snowmobile and ATV trails. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with preapproval and $75 non-refundable pet fee.

You have full exclusive access to home, pool, garage and yard. There is no lake access with the home and there is no access to the pole barn on the property.

We are available by text if you should have any questions before or during your stay. During summer months, we will come over at your convenience to show you how the pool works. There is also a house manual in the home which has area attractions, restaurants, grocery stores, etc.

Home is walking distance to casino in Christmas, Foggy's Steakhouse and gas station. You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is 1 grocery store and numerous restaurants, listed in the house manual.

There is plenty of room to bring a boat if you have one and there is a public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles from home. There is also plenty of room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails. The attached 2 car garage is heated for our winter enthusiasts, and has patio furniture in it as well as Roku TV.

**Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. Primary guest will need to upload a picture of government issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group.
**There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. One faces the front of the home and the other faces the pole barn. They are motion activated and on 24/7

Furnace lake overlook was amazing So clean, had everything we needed and more. The heated pool overlooking the lale was amazing and a wonderful place to relax after a day seeing the sites. Danielle was amazing and checked in with us to see if we were comfortable. We will definitley be back!

Our stay at Furnace Overlook was fabulous! Location couldn’t have been better for Pictured Rocks and Munising restaurants and shops. One highlight of Furnace Overlook was coming back after a long day exploring to the refreshing and relaxing pool and look out over the lake. The pool was very clean and well maintained. On top of all this, great hosts who made sure we knew about all of the amenities to make our stay the best it could be! I hope to stay again!

Our family really enjoyed staying at Furnace Lake Overlook. We particularly enjoyed the outdoors, as there was plenty of property for the kids to enjoy, a beautiful view of Furnace Lake and cozy spaces where to sit outside. I met my husband Kevin on a "girls" snowmobile trip in February of 2011. I was visiting from Byron in the lower peninsula and he has lived in the Munising area for most of his life. We got to know each other and fell in love via technology (Facebook and phone calls/texting). We were married on Grand Island in July 2012. After living after apart for the first 11 years of our relationship, I was finally able to move up here in March 2022. We love living near all of our properties and being able to work together to give our guests the personal attention and service they deserve. We love sharing this beautiful area with all who come to visit!

Why they chose this property

My husband Kevin and I bought this property under unusual circumstances. The previous homeowners had some damage done to home, and decided to sell instead of rebuild. Due to the fact that their driveway goes right through our business parking lot, we felt compelled to purchase. So the home was renovated and we opened as a vacation rental in July 2016 after purchasing in September 2015. As much as we would like to take credit for the master bath, that was all done by the previous owners and helped to make us fall in love with home and convince us to rebuild instead of demolish. We also loved the beautiful, peaceful view overlooking the lake. The firepit and waterfall area were also nicely done and we thought others may enjoy using them as well.

What makes this property unique

Some of the unique benefits to our vacation rental are that you have so much privacy (can hardly see a neighbor from the property) yet we are conveniently located being right on M-28 and so close to everything! Another wonderful benefit in the summer is that we are one of the only vacation rentals in the area where you have your own private, heated pool to use during your stay. Many guests think Lake Superior is a little chilly to swim in (we call it refreshing, lol!) so it is nice to be able to come home after a day of exploring to a nice, warm, heated pool :) For our winter time guests, our heated garage is a great convenience for working on snowmobiles (if needed) or to even just have them thaw out after a long day of riding so they are ready to go the next morning!
