The place was perfect for our family. For our size of family, we needed 2 bathrooms. Avi was very responsive. A couple of notes: Parking is very difficult so I am glad we didn't have a car. (We were warned about this so we planned not to have a car.) It's not close to Manhattan so we took an Uber to PATH and just took the subway around the city, so it worked. Thank you Avi.
Had a problem getting in. Host responed and treated us well. Parking is a problem

Guest didn’t read the instruction. Code to enter was in the app. Instead they used the lock box code in the digital lock. Got 4 men who all wanted to sleep on a separate beds when it’s clearly indicates there only 3 queen size beds. I supplied a blow out bed so they be comfortable. They didn’t deflate the bed and didn’t fold it. Parking is indicated as street parking only. I showed up in 5 minutes
One of the worst stay. The neighborhood doesn't look safe at all. There is no heater in the home, it only has portable heaters which won't help much. With seniors and kids in my family we slept all night at 57 temp. Very horrible experience. This listing should be marked as unsafe for the stay till the host address. Also when reached out to the host, they said they don't want to argue at midnight when I just told them things at not ok. Instead of arranging a quick fix they were in argument mode
Place was nice and clean. We had an issue with stairs and host got it fixed quickly. If renters don't tell the host of issues found they won't get fixed. Host was great getting item fixed.
We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids who were visiting NYC for the long weekend. The place is spacious, with 2 bathrooms which were reasonably clean. One parking space on the road was always available. Entrance door was a little clunky to get in or close. The owner was responsive to our requests. One inflatable bed had a leak in it so that was a bummer. The neighborhood had some sketchy people but that is to be expected! Overall, good value for the money!
We spent 4 days in this place. We had a great time. Beds are very comfortable and the kitchen was amazing. Little disappointment on the huge bathtub as it was dirty when I wanted to try it out hence the 4*. Hopefully it will not happen again! It wouldn’t have put me off booking this place as the place is huge and we’ll furnished. Entry and exit are easy, ideally located 10min walking to the light rail. We did not really do anything in the neighborhood so I can’t really comment on that and seemed descent. Hard to find a grocery store but we came prepared.
My family and I had a wonderful experience during our stay. The tenant was incredibly attentive, taking the time to show me how to access the facility, which made the entire process smooth. They even allowed us to check in earlier, so we didn’t have to walk around the city with all our suitcases, which was a huge relief! The highlight for me was the spa shower, such a luxurious addition! The space itself was spacious, and the pillows were soft and cozy, making it a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. The location is also a huge plus! There's a grocery store just a 15-minute walk away, which was very convenient. I also appreciated being only an 8-minute walk from the light rail. From Exchange Place, I was able to take the PATH to World Trade Center, making it easy to access various attractions via the subway. Initially, it took a bit to navigate the transit system, but once I figured it out, I could reach all the destinations I wanted—like Broadway shows, Central Park, the Harry Potter store, Chinatown, and Times Square—within an hour without the hassle of parking.ny further changes!

First of all I would like to say thank you to Avi, the owner. He stopped by a couple of times to drop off an inflatable bed and a fan. Very prompt and excellent communication. Highly appreciated. Honestly the big problem was parking. Very hard to find parking here. To be fair, we came back late 2 nights (around midnight) and there was absolutely no parking in any of the surrounding streets either. After 2 days of parking problems, we took Uber on the 3rd day.
In this street there are families and they seemed friendly. House was clean and everything else was ok. Beds were comfortable, linens were clean and towels were clean. Wifi was fine. Again Avi was a great host! He dropped off a fan as it got hot and there is no fan or AC downstairs. I really appreciated his prompt help. No stores nearby and we had to drive a few blocks to get coffee in the morning. We didn’t try other public transport but PATH station is about 3.5 miles away. You will have to park or Uber there and go to the city if you want to avoid driving.

The host was excellent with communication and check in very easy. Parking can be difficult at times due to only street parking being available but could always find one in walking distance. The host has worked hard to update the house and was very considerate to let us enter earlier than the listed arrival time while the cleaner was there. We had a 3 night stay scheduled, by the second night realized there were issues with cockroaches in the kitchen sink and under the fridge. We contacted the host and he said he would let his pest control person know. The couch bed is right near the kitchen and we did see some under that couch bed where one kid was sleeping. We did not feel comfortable staying further at that point. It should be noted that the downstairs did not seem to have those issues, so it was not a full infestation of the entire house and it seems like the host was going to actively work on the issue. We moved out and the host refunded for one evening since we moved out so late on our second evening. We did not reach out directly to the host, but with VRBO and the initiated the refund communications. I don’t necessarily feel that was an entirely fair refund, due to a kitchen infestation does make the kitchen not sanitary to use and one sleeping area was not usable at that point. Even when pest control does initiate cockroach control, it does not immediately get rid of them. Hoping the host does take care of the issue before the next renters.
Horrible, Unsafe and ill maintained. Stay away families from this property. Lockbox code for the key to open main building entrance didn’t work at all for all 4 nights. Poorly maintained, very rusty and dusty property. Rotten potatoes left by either owner or prior guest. No AC in the downstairs bedroom, used bit noisy tower fan for 4 nights, dining table cloths smelled dusty, limited kitchen pots, bulky beer pint sized coffee mugs, backyard with umbrella table and chairs is completely useless. Stand in the backyard deck look around, instantly notice diff between backyards, summarizes story of whole apartment. Listing says no parking at onsite, but neither VRBO Or owner mentioned about what other options to park the car Or dos and donts if you get street side parking. Parking rules assumed to be understood by guests who could be from any part of the world. NJ street side parking rules are not global and expecting visitors to read every signboard in the dark lane after reaching at 11 pm is absurd that too while struggling to get inside the building with luggage. Neighborhood is utterly unsafe after evening time, insufficient street lights in the lane, noisy neighbors till wee hours, people drinking and smoking (god knows what) on the streets right next to building. unsafe place for family and kids. Had to park 1.4 miles away, took uber to n from garage. Owner is responsive to texts but disrespectful, dont think owner understands concept of being host on VRBO specially for NYC

We are sorry this guest felt this way. However, much of this review is inaccurate.
Our listing clearly states there is no onsite parking and that street parking is free but subject to local rules (like any city in New Jersey). Guests are expected to read the street signs, which are large, reflective, and visible at night. Calling me after midnight to ask me to personally find parking was unreasonable, and requesting that I pay for their parking ticket was not appropriate just as I wouldn’t be responsible if a guest received a speeding ticket.
Regarding the property: the apartment has multiple AC units and has comfortably hosted many families throughout the summer without complaint. The lockbox code worked for the stay, and no other guest has ever reported it not working. The claim about a “rotten potato” was never documented with a photo when I asked for one. We provide a fully equipped kitchen, and while guests may have preferences about mug sizes or tablecloths, these are not safety or cleanliness issues.
The statement that the neighborhood is unsafe is completely unfounded and vindictive, clearly intended to damage my hard-earned high rating. This area is a vibrant community where many families live comfortably.
As a host, I always strive to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable space. Hundreds of other guests have stayed here happily. Unfortunately, once in a while, there will be a guest who cannot be satisfied no matter what is provided.
