Welcome to The Bear Lair! This NEWLY RENOVATED cabin in Black Bear Resort sleeps 6 and features a full kitchen, fireplace, Wi-Fi, and a deck overlooking Canaan Wildlife Refuge. Close to Davis, Timberline, and Dolly Sods—relax and make memories!

We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return.

Cleaning crew did not do a good job. Trashbags left out next to front stairs to the property. The sheets were not cleaned from the previous guest - lot of human and dog hair found in the sheets. No clean sheets could be found in the closets to replace the ourselves.

In the middle of everything

Well equipped cozy cabin on a resort with plenty to keep the family busy. Free mini golf, pickleball court, and basketball. 10 minute access to Davis and Thomas. Wildlife refuge visitors center and Canaan state park 10 minutes in the other direction. Endless trail opportunities throughout. Simply everything you need right there.

A great getaway

We had everything we needed to enjoy the Bear Lair! We loved being able to have fires in the evening and enjoyed the view from the living rooms windows. We really appreciated being able to bring our 4 legged friend, who also had a great time. We did have a little bit of snow so had to be careful on the flight of stairs up to the cabin.
