We traveled to run the Wilmington marathon so we were looking for convenience and comfort and we got both of those in this place! The beds were clean and comfortable, and the location was great.
It was great to have the whole house to ourselves without worrying about noise from neighbors. Appreciated the small touches like coffee, snacks and water bottles provided. Beds are SO comfy. Host was very responsive and kind. As it is a historic property be mindful of who you are traveling with - there are things you must treat gently - but that is part of the charm of the home!
We stayed here to celebrate a late Christmas with two of our adult kids. The house is tastefully decorated with music memorabilia. It was fun to walk down memory lane and share it with the family. The back yard looked amazing, but it rained all weekend so we didn’t get to enjoy it.The kitchen was stocked nicely with a coffee bar and the host left some snacks for us.It is easy walking distance to the waterfront. The host was very responsive and thoughtful. We definitely recommend staying here.
This charming, historic home had more than enough space for our family of 5. The bedrooms are nicely sized, the beds are comfortable, and the space was clean. We loved the close proximity to downtown and the river (a pleasant walk to each), and enjoyed both a morning coffee and an evening beer on the lovely front porch most days. The kitchen is well-equipped, and while counter space is tight, it’s possible to prepare simple meals in the space. Coffee, cream and sugar were generously provided. The home sits at the end of a very quaint and lovely block, and is separated from a busier road by an open lot/community garden. There are quite a few excellent restaurants, coffee shops and cool vintage stores just around the corner. There is a large, fenced back yard, which was not inviting due to lack of maintenance during our stay. In the heat of summer, the home A/C system struggles to keep up. Despite its mighty efforts, the upstairs (where all of the bedrooms are located) was quite warm and humid for our stay in July. This is a historic home that comes with all of the charm and the challenges of an older property. If you’re looking for a cute spot with plenty of character that allows you to walk to a lot of amenities, this home is a great choice. If you’re looking for a more “sanitized” experience with all of the comforts of a more modern home, this might not be your spot.
