The Octagon House: long-range views, fireplace, easy access, close to town

You will love your stay at the Octagon House. The home's shape allows for the best enjoyment of the panoramic mountain views and it truly bring the outdoors in. There are windows and sliding doors perfectly situated to maximize the views. The porch wraps around the house, allowing lots of room for outdoor enjoyment. And, to top it off, you can end each day with a perfect view of the sunset over the mountains.

The home is very close to the Smoky Mountain Visitor Center and is conveniently located just minutes from Franklin. Restaurants and shopping are a short car ride away. The house is also located near gem mining, kayaking, hiking and waterfalls. Access to the home is easy. It is accessed by turning onto a paved road off of Hwy 441 just south of Franklin, leading to a short gravel road. The driveway is gravel with just a slight grade.

The home is ready for your next mountain vacation. Everything you need is provided! The kitchen is fully stocked and linens are provided.

Wi-Fi is provided for your convenience.

The main floor features an open floor plan. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are all open and have mountain views. The kitchen has two sinks, stainless steel appliances, and quartz counter tops. The main floor bedroom has a king size bed and direct access to the bathroom. The bathroom has a stand up shower and includes the washer/dryer unit.

The second floor features a loft area with even better mountain views! In case you want to watch TV or movies, there is an HD television in the loft area with several popular streaming apps included. There is also a deck off the second floor loft to enjoy. The second floor bedroom is large in size and has two twin beds (one is a trundle) and queen size bed. The bedroom sleeps four. There is a full bathroom with bathtub on the second floor.

No smoking and no pets allowed.

An outdoor security camera is located on-site for the protection of the home. The device is located on the floodlights above the entrance to the deck area. The camera covers the parking area and porch entrance to the home. The data is available only to the owners and is not stored long-term.

Excellent! Stayed for a long weekend with my wife. The house was very well-kept, well-stocked and comfortable. Lots of bedding options if you have lots of family, but there are only two bedrooms, so keep that in mind. Our host was very thoughtful and helpful, working with us quickly to reschedule when we got snowed out. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to anyone for a trip to the mountains.

This is a great property with a amazing view, It was a total different plan from what we were used to. But we and the kids loved the stay and the view was amazing and the drive was really smooth to the property and they had the essential stuff that was needed for cooking, Games and books for the kids.

Our family of six had plenty of room and everything we needed for our four-day stay. Great location! Easy to get to Highlands and Bryson City, which we enjoyed walking around the small town shops. We live near the beach in Florida. After making multiple trips to Franklin several years in a row, we decided to buy a home there. We love the mountains and love the Franklin area. It is a great jumping off point for so many activities. We especially love Dry Falls (on the Highlands Road) and going gem mining.

Why they chose this property

The shape of the house is so interesting and feels very spacious inside. We love that the house is easy to access (no long, climbing drives), but feels very secluded. But, what really sold us were the views.
