About this property
Spacious Luxury 6 BR Home, Sleeps 16, Private Pool, In Nature, Convenient to DC
Stunning 6 bedroom, 5½ bath home on 34 acres with panoramic woodland views, and private salt-water pool, perfect for that special gathering. Just 35 minutes from Capitol Hill and 20 minutes from Annapolis. The home, with its high ceilings, huge windows and expansive decks comprises over 8000 square feet, so there is plenty of room to stretch out. The gourmet kitchen and separate wet bar makes entertaining a breeze.
***If you are interested in booking this beautiful property, PLEASE SEND AN INQUIRY FIRST (prior to requesting a booking) so we can be sure we are a good fit for your needs. Otherwise your booking will likely be denied.***
This home is designed for the maximal enjoyment of nature in every season. This is a very spacious home, and is perfect for family gatherings or retreats. There are plenty of places large enough to accommodate gatherings, as well as plenty space for "alone time".
On the main floor is one of two master suites (queen bed) with full bath (tub and shower). The room is wheelchair accessible with extra-wide doors, and a zero-clearance shower. There is also a ramp to the home’s front entrance and porch.
Adjoining the main floor master suite is a sitting room with a queen sleeper sofa. This room can be completely closed off for privacy.
The Great Room is expansive with its 11-foot ceilings and exposed wood beams. The spacious dining area enjoys sweeping pastoral views, and you can see the West River in the distance. You will love creating meals in this gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line Viking appliances. From the kitchen window you can see the boat masts bobbing away at the marina in nearby Galesville. There is a separate wet bar close to the kitchen, making entertaining a breeze.
The huge Family Room is a wonderful gathering place. This room has a large screen TV. From the Family Room you can step outside to the expansive back deck, or to a screened porch with cathedral ceiling and beautiful views of the side garden. The back deck has a gas grill to enhance your outdoor dining experience.
The Library has pocket doors that can be closed to provide a private sleeping space if needed.
On the second floor is the magnificent master suite with queen bed, walk-in closet, and huge bathroom with a large soaking tub. Imagine sitting in the tub looking out the massive picture windows and watching the changing sunlight on the fields.
This master suite also has a separate bedroom with a queen bed. This room is down a short hallway from the main master bedroom, and has a curtain to give privacy. Shares bathroom with main master suite. There are also 2 balconies in the master suite, one overlooking the pool, and the other looks out over the fields and towards the river.
There are three additional bedrooms on this floor, one with one double bed, one with one twin and one XL twin, and a large room with king bed, small sleeper sofa (great for a child) and lovely sitting area. There are an additional 2 full baths on this level.
On the second floor there is also a library/loft space for quiet reading, as well as a full-sized washer and dryer.
Do you like to play pool? Then you are in luck as there is a pool table in the finished basement. It can be converted to a ping pong table. There is also a second kitchen downstairs. This kitchen is not stocked for serious cooking as the one upstairs is, but if you have a large group the extra fridge/freezer, oven and microwave can come in handy (no stove top). There is also a full bath (shower) downstairs, as well as a queen bed, a twin bed, a queen futon and a double sleeper sofa.
The home has excellent wifi throughout. It also has an elevator to make easy access to the 3 main floors.
There is a private outdoor swimming pool available mid-May through mid-September. The new hot tub with therapeutic jets is available year round.
If you like to get out in nature and not just look at it through the magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows, there is a delightful 1/3 mile walk along a semi-private trail to the water. The property is situated on Cox Creek on the West River.
*** In addition to the main house, there is a separate studio apartment above the garage, with it's own private entrance-way. It is used by a massage therapist, mostly during the week (often not more than two or three sessions a day). If you would like to book a massage during your stay please let me know (with as much notice as possible) and I will pass along his contact info.
No events or parties.
Depending on your arrival time I (or a co-host) will be there to greet you when you arrive and walk you through the home, and answer any questions you have about the area. There is also a detailed house manual outlining everything you need to know about the home and the area. If you have any issues while staying at the home, you will have my cell phone number, and I (or a co-host) will respond as soon as possible. I (or a co-host) will do a walk-through of the home with you prior to you checking out.
There is a small convenience store close by, and restaurants in nearby Galesville, a 5-minute drive away. Despite being in the county, the home is just 35 minutes from the heart of Washington DC (depending on the time of day and traffic - in rush hour it will take longer) and 15 minutes from beautiful Annapolis. The closest large grocery stores are in Edgewater, less than 5 miles away.
The home is in a rural setting, so there is limited public transportation, but lots of parking.
I want your stay to be special and wonderful, and will do all that I can to make that happen. I do trust folks to be honest when choosing this home and making their reservation. However do note that there is a zero tolerance policy toward guests who deceive us and try to sneak in extra guests, have an illegal party or damage and dirty this home. Any guests found in violation of any of the house rules, will be asked to leave immediately.
I welcome all guests, regardless of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender.
