The houseboat was in a great location. We felt that there were some rules that made the experience limited. Overall, would do it again but know we would plan differently.

Great View! Awesome Getaway!

Great little place for our Memorial Day/Honeymoon getaway! Everything was great!Brought our boat but were told that we weren't allowed to to tie up to the back once we had it in, we made the best of it and just took in and out each day, boat ramp is just down Water Street. Location is perfect, just a walk away from everything Apalachicola.

Couple's Vacation

We were looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation somewhere pretty on or near the beach with minimal tourist traffic and we found exactly what we needed here. The boat was comfortable and clean, and the view was unbeatable. Would happily return.

This houseboat is within walking distance of all the restaurants and places of interest in Apalachicola, and sitting on the deck watching the pelicans and other wildlife was a favorite pastime.

Fantastic place to stay. The experience is unique and the accommodations are comfortable

Appalachicola is a historical and incredible piece of Florida history. The houseboat experience was more than we thought it would be. Watching the boats come and go is so relaxing. Karen is a great host. This a must for anyone who wants to experience old Florida.

CSC

Great location you can walk all over town. We enjoy staying here the only drawback is the cost staying 3 nights is more than staying in a condo on the beach for a week.

Cheryl, Yes, the fees to book on this website are extremely high. Of note, we do not get even close to the amount that you paid. This website charges us as well as you. There may be less expensive ways to book this property. Please go to FloridaHouseboatRentals. Thank you.

A unique vacation rental!

Staying on a houseboat to experience Apalachicola is a truly unique experience. The boat has everything you need and the location on the water can't be beat. We caught at least thirty fish off the back deck - so fun! The restaurants and shops are all within walking distance - we loved the Owl City Taproom & The Oyster City Brewery is great! We would definitely come back again - thanks!

Terrific location and service

Staying on the houseboat was a unique and beautiful experience. Really need to call out Karen, the owner, who was terrific. Everything was smooth, she took care to make sure the unit was cleaned thoroughly, and was kind even when as guests we made mistakes. Cannot say enough and hope to see her again soon.

Relaxed!

quiet. Comfortable, close to resturants and entertainment. Plenty of cat fish if you like to fish! Nice quaint town, people friendly. No problems! Couldn't hook up a ps5 on day it rained because we only had remote for dish and not tv so unable to change source. We just found something else to do! The wood work on houseboat is beautiful. Would stay again!

About the host

Hosted by Karen Hoff

Host profile image
Karen and Joe Hoff purchased this Houseboat in late 2012. After spending 20 years restoring an 1850s Italianate home, they full in love with Apalachicola and its unique historic architecture. These history buffs spent a weekend aboard the Reelaxation and are now committed to providing a relaxing and comfortable experience for you.

Why they chose this property

While Florida plays host to Disney World, Miami, and the Florida Keys, Apalachicola boast its own style and is laid back and unpretentious. Enjoy Oysters ten feet away at a local Raw Bar, or walk ten minutes to enjoy the local culture and restaurants. The real attraction to Apalachicola is a town that embodies Florida in the 50's.

What makes this property unique

Located on the Apalachicola River within close proximity to Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, the views from every window are breathtaking. The front screened porch offers close up constantly changing scenery including dolphins, turtles, birds and an occasional alligator! Let us know if we can arrange to have a fishing guide pick you up from your houseboat!
