Our stay was very nice. Greeted by owner and felt very welcome! In addition to the clean accommodations it was a beautiful property with goats and other animals to feed. I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you so much, you and your family were delightful guests.
Our stay on the Chattanooga Star was magical. Sun rises & sun sets on the top deck, recommended. Lots of interesting birds & the place was conveniently located for checking out the area parks and wildlife refuges. Main bedroom is super cozy & the windows are a bonus.
We had a great time staying here. Very neat experience and super friendly host. It is the ultimate experience if you like being on the water. Definitely would recommend everyone to stay here at least once. Very clean and updated.
Off the beaten track for sure, but the artfully designed accommodations were lovely and come with a fascinating history. Enveloped by peace and quiet- we quickly began to realize the rich and lively soundscape of our location: birdsong, a rooster crowing, faraway train whistle, fish plopping, frogs, more birds! Remember to bring food and binoculars. Our host was as uniquely interesting as the boat. It’s a perfect spot for peacefully watching the world go by; just what we were looking for.
This was a once in a lifetime mini vacation. Our host, Captain Mike answered all our questions and gave us a brief history of the Star (the boat) She is rich in history. The Star scrapbook tells the whole story. The beds were comfortable and the amenities were many. We did have our boat to use but Capt Mike offered us kayaks. I look forward to our next trip to the Santee River
Looking for a unique place to stay that is relaxing, off the beaten path and brings you together with nature? We enjoyed our tour of the grand vessel with Captain Mike, then we got busy seeking relaxation. We brought plenty of provisions, groceries, wine and such. Although she is well stocked with essentials. Fresh towels, linens all very nice. We were even brought fresh eggs from Captains chickens…. The beds were comfy and each room has its own bathroom with plenty of room!!! She is grand and we enjoyed ourselves…. Bring some paints and paint off the back of the boat!!! Or some fishing poles!!
Captain Mike was amazing and wow, what a find to be able to stay on this historic boat. As Ohioans, it was cool to stay aboard the bicentennial paddle boat of Ohio. Mike’s communication was absolutely phenomenal. Not only did he give an amazing tour of the boat, he was always available for help and comments. We took advantage of the kayaks to troll around a bit and were able to safely see an alligator or three! The fire pit at night was awesome for s’mores. Our two boys (okay, 3 boys counting Dadude) had a blast. Momlady also enjoyed the views, amazing sounds and clean facility. We wish we could’ve stayed longer than three nights but we’ve gotta move along. This was an awesome launchpad to see our 32nd national park, Congaree. We’ve got 31 more to go.
From start to finish, from the location to the hosts, this was an amazing stay. The "Star" has been truly transformed into an amazing luxury accommodation. Everything has been thought of here. Comfort has been accounted for everywhere as well as convenience. The beds were perfect and everything was so clean. I've stayed in high end hotels that aren't as nice as this. Location wise, it's purely enchanting. The river is flowing past, fish and turtles everywhere, birds flying around, calling and squirrels scurrying around the trees. The hosts have some chickens and guinea fowl and goats that are a real treat to have around. The hosts shared history about the boat and theres a book with a lot of info shared through newspaper clippings as well which provides a rich history of the boat. It's just truly a special place to stay.
Our stay at the Paddlewheel was the best Mr.. Robert was a excellent host. The information about the boat and surrounding things to do was very informative. He had kayaks and being on the water was like being in a movie, surreal I'll defiantly stay again hands down.
This was one of our most unique VRBO stays! We very much enjoyed staying on a paddle boat! Cap'n Mike has done a wonderful job of taking the boat that he built and creating a great place to spend some time. With three bedroom suites and a full kitchen, along with the upper deck for relaxing, eating, and observing nature, there isn't much you can think of that's not provided. The fresh flowers were a very nice bonus. The master suite has several windows overlooking the water. The lower deck was very clean, which isn't easy in South Carolina and on the water. We appreciated Cap'n Mike's suggestion that we stop for groceries on our way, as there are no stores (or restaurants) nearby. The Chattanooga Star has such a wonderful history and it's great that Cap'n Mike and Mrs. are sharing this with visitors, and we enjoyed talking with him. We like to find unique places to stay, and this one is at the top of our list!
