Awanadjo Shores on Toddy Pond

Cozy pine cottage on private lot. Central to historic Castine, Stonington, South Surry, Blue Hill, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Wheelchair accessible if needed. Water access is a three minute walk to beautiful Toddy Pond and is perfect for canoes and kayaks. Two kayaks plus life jackets included with rental. A dock, great for fishing is on the edge of a cove full of birds and wildlife. Hiking, biking and all outdoor activities a plus and Great Pond Mountain Wildlife Park is nearby. Nature is in its element everywhere. Free WI-FI is available. There are 2 queen beds, a pull out full size couch, and a pull out twin size chair. Suitable for up to 4 adults plus 2 or 3 children. Bookings available for 2 nights minimum and up to 7 nights maximum.

We had a great time. It's just a short walk to the lake dock. We had fun using the kayaks and canoe to explore the beautiful lake and loved sitting out on the screened front porch. Highly recommend for a quite vacation.

The cottage is so charming and equipped with everything (and then some) we needed for our stay. It was a perfect area to take walks with our dog. It is obvious our host has put a lot of time and effort into making this place a comfortable place to stay. My family would certainly stay here again and will recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Not to far from anything we had planned to do on our vacation. The kayaks were so much fun to take out and fish a little. The screen in porch was relaxing and nice to see the hummingbirds. Everything was well kept and had everything we needed for a week stay. Thank you!!!

Awanadjo cabin was the perfect home base for our Acadia Adventure. It's far enough away from the craziness but still close enough the travel isn't far. It's a lovely scenic drive to and from Acadia. We enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch in the evenings. Our son did some fishing off the dock and kayaking at Toddy Pond. We brought our two dogs and they enjoyed the porch as well!Nancy ensured the cabin was clean. We had everything we needed for our stay and was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed all the quirky items placed around the cabin and found something new everyday.

This cabin is beautifully sequestered in the woods, with a short walk to water with opportunities to kayak, fish or canoe. The kitchen has all the things you would really need to cook, and the owners have thoughtfully provided for pretty much any basic need! It’s only about 45 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia park, along with lots of little towns nearby. Bangor is only about 35 minutes, but not the only option. We had such a great week exploring, and having the cabin to come ‘home’ to was perfect. Plus, for a family that travels using a lot of Vrbo and Air B&B rentals, it’s a major bonus that we didn’t have to completely clean the house before we left, which is REALLY cool. If you are looking for chic and modern, look elsewhere (but I doubt you’re traveling to the woods in Maine anyway!)- if you want cozy, step back in time and soooo peaceful, go there, don’t think twice.
