BRINGING A BOAT? Please let us know for valuable information! We can accommodate a boat up to 18 feet. We are on a two track along side the lake and on a dead end so it makes it difficult to trailer both your vehicle and boat attached on trailer down the road so any boat especially bigger than 18' should put the boat in the water first as you have to pass up the boat launch enroute to the cottage and both drivers of boat and vehicle w/trailer can meet at Sunrise which is only less than 2 blocks distance from launch so its really close otherwise you will have issues. Please be so kind and let host know you are bringing a boat so we can give you details to make your arrival seamless. There is one whole side of the dock for guest usage, no lift.
WINTER/SNOWMOBILE/CROSS COUNTRY SKI/SKI HILLS: Snowmobile DNR trails right behind cottage, Trail # 7 and Ski Hills nearby for the Winter Enthusiasts! All kinds of Cross-Country Ski Trails nearby. In this area, you will find the gently sloping terrain, heavily wooded forests and deep annual snowfall ideal for Nordic skiing. It is also not uncommon to see plentiful wildlife out on the trail. Limited parking, please ask!
Although our property is professionally plowed, we do STRONGLY recommend that you have a 4 wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle to access this property in winter months.
GOLF: Lots of golf courses nearby which include world-class resorts and championship golf designed by some of America's top golf course designers, the Gaylord area is your dream golf destination.
HIKING: Experience all that is Northern Michigan along one of the many trails nearby used for hiking, jogging, walking, & biking.

What makes this property unique
The Inland Waterway is Michigan's longest chain of rivers and lakes and this cottage is right at the heart of it all! The Inland Waterway runs through Pickerel Lake, Crooked Lake, The Crooked River, Burt Lake, The Indian River, Mullett Lake, The Cheboygan River, and finally into Lake Huron. The Inland Waterway can handle boats up to 65 feet long (18 foot beam) with up to a 5 foot draft. There are 17 species of fish inhabit the waterway whether ice fishing for walleye, spring steelhead, summer perch, trout, bass, or down-rigging for salmon in the Great Lakes, this area has it all.
For fun by land, enjoy the North Central State Trail, a beautiful 62 mile hiking, biking and snowmobiling trail, which passes through Indian River as it connects Gaylord to Mackinaw City. Up for Motorcycling or snowmobiling; check out Tomahawk Trails which provides miles of scenic wilderness. Hunt, fish and play in 180,000+ acres of State Land including the Mackinaw State Forest and lovely Pigeon River Country State Forest, home to Michigan’s only free ranging Elk Herd, the largest herd east of the Mississippi. Don't forget to visit the world’s tallest wooden Crucifix at Cross in the Woods, in Indian River, 10 min from cottage.
Truly Nature’s Mecca, this cottage offers you the ideal location to boat, fish, hunt, bike, golf, kayak, canoe, raft, tube, sail, snowmobile, motorcycle, ski, bird watch, mushroom hunt, hike, skate, dine, and shop. By water or by land, quiet sport or motor, fun with nature is certain with so many activities available to you.
Mullett Lake's crystal clear water invites you to experience a walk across its sandy bottom, cast a line for fishing or cruise across the waves by raft, pedal-boat, canoe, kayak, fishing or powerboat. Mullett Lake is only a short drive to fun locations like Petoskey, Mackinac Island, Gaylord and Traverse City. Take a day trip for shopping, scenic lookouts, golf courses, casinos, and many family adventures.
