We had a great time! The location is perfect for beach access and beautiful sunsets from the front deck. It is an older house, with a lot of character. It was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. If you’re looking for a big open space for a family beach trip - this is perfect, Watch the time zone change right here when planning for local restaurants We’ll be back again! Thanks JJ - great host with fantastic communication.

We had an amazing visit. Our host, JJ, was very helpful. He is acomidating on having your pets with you. There is definitely a lot of space for a large gathering. Having the beach access just across the street was awesome. We liked using the front deck and fire pit every night. Great views and sounds of waves crashing made it comfortable and relaxing. Thanks again.

Over the past 10 years, this has been our family vacation home. It is comfortable & welcoming. If you want to experience true beach living that’s not been commercialized, this is it. The sunsets are breathtaking and the beach is a treasure trove for combers. Did I mention, your doggo is welcome?

It’s a good size house, beds were comfortable, and across the street from beach but for the size of the home it needs a larger a/c or add a few window units and fans needed in kitchen.. I realize it’s an older home- needs some insulation. I would rent it again but only between November thru April.

Good News Lisa!! Apparently we just had a malfunctioning AC unit. After we received your review we got to work and figure out the problem. Everything is repaired and the house is cool as a cucumber! In an effort to be proactive, we have also scheduled the replacement of that unit during the off season. We have also scheduled several improvements that will increase the overall energy efficiency of the home. Yes a nearly 100 year old home is tough to maintain while also maintaining its historic character. We are doing our best to keep this historic treasure alive. Thank you for your review!

We had a great time. The house was right off the beach with great sunset views. The house was very large and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again in the future.

The beach view was fantastic! We loved sitting on the front deck, watching the ocean and seeing a guy catch shark(s.) The kitchen window had a magazine view! While the adults’ bedrooms didn’t have an ocean view, the front bedroom/living area was surrounded with windows. Thank you so much for the charming stay.

J.J. was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. Beach access is pretty easy and the view is better than the listings even shows. Wildlife from the beach was awesome- lots of dolphin sightings, birds diving for fish, and great surf fishing with calm waters and white, soft sand. The house is extremely unique- kind of like a beach cottage museum. It does feel like a 100 year old home (both good and a little rough). Beds were comfy, A/C and water pressure worked great. Living room and dining furniture really needs some upgrades (stained and dilapidated cushions), and there’s a lot of lights that don’t work. If you need privacy, only 2 bedrooms actually have doors. The bunk room has no door, and the room closest to the living room only has a curtain. The time-zone thing threw us for a loop! It’s literally ON the line between Central and ET, so we never knew what time it was. There are not a ton of options for restaurants and only one grocery store so plan accordingly! Mexico Beach is quiet (old-Florida as they say) and pretty much the opposite of 30a in vibes if you are deciding on where to go. If you want peace and quiet, it’s a great option. If you need things to do or nightlife, maybe look elsewhere. Overall, great host and decent accommodations.

Love it

Our family of twelve had a wonderful stay. There is plenty of room so you’re not running over one another. The beds were comfortable we loved every inch of the property. If I had to find a negative, it would be the lack of a second trash can out side. We had a lot of garbage (we cooked all our meals) and the can wouldn’t hold it all. Overall we were thrilled with our stay. The walk to the beach was easy and short. We had no problem crossing the street to get to the beach. The neighborhood is nice and we met and talked to several locals. I would stay here again in a minute. Nothing but good things to say.

Fabulous view! This is indeed a quirky house. Everything was as presented in the description. We were surprised there was no dishwasher and I will be sure to check for that in future listings. My only complaint was the floors were not properly cleaned. The first morning I was walking around bare foot and propped my feet up on an ottoman and my wife told me to look at the bottoms of my feet. They were black. The owner needs to have a talk with the cleaning crew. Also very surprised there was no stemware in the house. We had to go to Walmart several miles away to get wine glasses. We did enjoy our stay overall. I would suggest the owners invest in a portable or roll away dishwasher.

Beacon Hill Blessing is very appropriately named! My family was blessed to stay in this wonderful "old Florida" beach house! Right across from a stretch of dedicated beach, we had plenty of room, were very comfortable, and close to wonderful seafood dining! We've stayed in many places on the Gulf Coast over the years, but this place is my wife's favorite! We will be back!

The view is incredible. The house needs updating. It needs new furniture, especially sofa’s. One is not usable. A rocking chair would be nice. The bathrooms are good and the kitchen is bright and happy. Two trash cans are needed outside for a house this size. The host was very nice and easy to communicate with.

We had a nice stay. The house was clean. It has a good view. My only issue was with the furniture. We had to fix one bed that kept falling apart. Very hard mattresses. One couch sits on the floor with no legs. Those upgrades would make it worth the rental prices. The history of the house and the preservation of the old beach house feel made it fun.
