Our recently renovated, fully winterized quaint and comfy two-bedroom, one-bath cottage features large eat-in kitchen, dining, and living area, along with a screened-in porch that overhangs the east side of the lake. This cottage is perfectly situated to suit your sabbatical, short-term research, or recreational and relaxation needs. The private driveway is very close to main roads providing easy in/out access through all seasons with parking for two vehicles. The Cozy Lil' Cottage is surrounded by rolling hills, a popular golf course, and the best of local wineries, breweries, and fare. Just 30 minutes from Cornell University, Ithaca College, and its downtown, and only 5-10 minutes to explore Wells College and Aurora, NY. With direct access to Cayuga Lake, our home boasts breathtaking views of the east side of the lake, fantastic kayaking & fishing & the most sublime sunsets, along with all of the essentials for your research, recreation, and relaxation. The primary bedroom boasts a huge closet with private sliding doors to access the screened porch. The second bedroom has bunkdbed sleeping for up to 3 with partial lake view. The patio itself has panoramic Cayuga Lake views. The dock and frontage are privately owned, not shared. Wi-Fi and Roku TV are included. Canoes, kayaks, and other recreational equipment may be provided. No additional fees for utilities unless damage occurs due to the tenant.**We are continuously updating, check back for recent photos!

Great stay -house is right on the lake. Stunning views of the lake- especially sunset! Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the lake. It is truly a magical spot! Host was extremly helpful in suggesting many nearby activities ,spots to see waterfalls, and hikes.I would definitely stay here again-I highly recommend it.

Beautiful place, wonderful host

Sublime sunsets indeed! The location is spectacular; with a great screened porch and deck for enjoying Cayuga. Incredible sunset views. Very quiet pleasant little road of cottages to walk down, little waterfalls all along the way. Cottage is extremely nice also, and the host wonderfully communicative and helpful. Thank you Kimberly!

My stay was a girls weekend with 2 of my friends from high school. The arrangements worked well with my friends each getting a bedroom and myself sleeping on an air mattress in the living room. The views of the water were delightful and we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening dinners either out on the screened in porch or on the deck. The house had most of the utensils we needed to prepare the meals we ate at home. Kimberlee was great to work with, providing recommendations for places to go and keeping us informed on important things happening during our stay. We collectively agreed we would stay again.

I'm an artist, and the views were so inspiring I painted over thirty pieces during our stay!I was there with my wife and our 13-year-old child, and as a family getaway, it was just as magical. There was something for each of us: comfy seating, luxurious beds, and that dreamy sunporch! And don’t even get me started on the lake—it was everything.The community was welcoming, and the cottage had everything we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen with all the pots, pans, and utensils to cook fun meals together.We spent our days relaxing, playing games, swimming, and soaking in the peace of it all. My family recharged, and I left creatively renewed. We truly didn’t want to leave!

Our stories are all perfectly imperfect, just like our dreamy little lakefront. It was a lifelong dream to relax on the shores of Cayuga Lake, and we finally found THE one.

Our little family owns a fitness center in a rural town in Upstate New York 30 minutes from our cozy cottage. We maintain day jobs with Cornell University and Downtown Ithaca, as well as serving and supporting our local community. My husband coaches and is the strength and conditioning coach across several high school teams, as well as providing 1:1 and small group trainings custom-fit to specific sports needs at the school and our gym.

We have a 14-year old son heavily involved in training and sports of his own, so we often travel weekends and have enjoyed appreciating other families' short-term rentals.
We just took on the cottage late fall, so are continuously taking time for improvements, but the cozy cottage snuggles in between rustic and modern leisure.

That said, we don't quite YET have the time to slow down and enjoy. BE OUR GUEST!

Why they chose this property

Our little community is private enough to appreciate, but robust in character and friendly neighbors. You'll hear the occasional golf cart whizz by (under 5mph) and a several active walkers getting in their steps.

The neighbors on either side of the cozy cottage own frontage and docks, but do not have established homes. We ask that you respect their land, docks and parking. The cozy cottage has plenty of our own!
