Absolutely lovely cabin and location! Only thing a tad annoying was the sensitivity of the outdoor motion flood lights when standing outside by the fire and sleeping at night.
Thanks so much for offering your clean, well appointed home for rent to others wishing to explore your region. We have been to numerous VRBO rentals over the last 10 years and while we have never had a bad experience, this was our favorite! There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't already there. Beautiful area and Packwood has a grocery store and several dining options. Outdoor space was fantastic while indoors was cozy and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!!
We had a great time at this cozy, homey A-frame. Although it is a smallish space, the layout was great and we had plenty of room for our family of four plus a pair of grandparents. The location was ideal, an easy jaunt into town and a very quick drive to Mt. Rainier National Forest. Can’t wait to come back!
We had the best time staying at the cabin. It was super clean with everything we needed. We loved sitting outside around the fire pit after a great day hiking. Great access to Mt Ranier NP.
We had a wonderful time in this cozy chalet. It was clean and very comfortable. Easy access to Rainier for day hikes. and adventures. Highly recommend!
It was a pleasure staying here with my family while we were visiting Mt. Rainier. The location is wonderful, and there was plenty to do inside the house. The house is right up against the woods and there is a nice porch area to hang out.
Perfect cabin to launch from for hiking Rainier. Lovely property on a quiet cul de sac. Felt very well cared for and homey. We would recommend to anyone.
This location is perfect for being in the woods without the miles or seclusion that a great escape would typically offer! We could have stayed a week and been comfortable and within easy distance to everything we needed. Thank you to the hosts for keeping a charming alpine lodge available for families to gather!
Planned time for my son to see his grandma. We enjoyed the time spent talking and cooking old recipes together. The fire place worked well and the weather as expected. Nice place to have some privacy and relaxation.
The cabin was great. The location was between Packwood and the entrance to Mt Ranier np. About 3 miles each way. We also went to Olympic np and Mt st helens. The cabin location was private and scenic.
Overall a very nice cabin/cottage. Great location close to everything in the area. Everything was clean and the house was stocked with anything you need. I would like to go again in the winter to get that experience.
The only suggestion I would make is it would be create to have a couple screen doors on the front and side doors to allow a cross breeze to cool the place down on a hot day.
There is no washer/drier in the house and no laundromats within 30-40 minutes drive so have adequate clean clothes for your stay. Same thing for any needed pharmacy supplies.
Was very quiet and private. Saw 1 or 2 other people our whole time in the neighborhood. Doesnt seem like a very popular area. Grocery store is near but everything is about 40% to 100% more expensive than normal prices. The wifi worked fine but no service inside the house, had to go to the driveway to get any. My only complaint is lack of curtains for the downstairs front of the house, at night it was sorta spooky having no way to escape sight from the outside. I understand its an A-frame cabin but there is room to install some for added privacy. House was fully stocked though with towels, linens, and kitchenware. Firewood was abundant. Also has a nice selection of games to play under the tv. Surprisingly not very buggy at all either.
Really nice stay in the cute A-frame cabin, tucked in the woods. Not totally secluded, but a very quiet neighborhood. The inside of the cabin was well stocked - plenty of towels, kitchen utensils, blankets, pillows, bathroom accessories. I personally loved the dark wood interior, but it wasn't totally dark and there is plenty of interior lighting. It is cozy and as mentioned by other reviewers, tall folks would not be comfortable upstairs. The outside space was nice, with fire pit, awesome table and chairs, good BBQing, and stocked with firewood. The location was perfect for heading to Packwood for a beer or groceries, or Rainier National Park. We spent two days hiking in the park and relaxed every evening outside at the fire pit. We stay again and recommend to our friends and family.
Great place and perfect location to stay and visit Mount Rainier National Park
Wonderful property. I recommend you mention the one bunk is not easy to use due to the slant of the roof. My 9 year-old was not able to sleep in it due to lack of head space and ability to turn on her side other than on the front quarter of the bed. Since we only have the 4 of us, she slept in a lower bunk. You may also want to mention the low ceiling height. My husband is 6'4" and had to duck under the beams on the first floor in the kitchen. All in all wonderful place and we loved staying on this side of the park for easier access to see Paradise, Longmire and Sunrise areas of Mount Rainier. Your cleaner may not be vacuuming the 2nd floor. We found Cheeto crumbs on the bunk room floor.
