About this property

Spectacular Corner Unit w/Huge Ocean Views, Pool & Private Beach Access

Clean and comfortable, this 2-story 2-bedroom 2-bath corner condo unit on the 7th & 8th floor is in the center of the Golden Zone overlooking the ocean and islands just offshore.

As you walk in the condo on the 8th floor, you will see the kitchen, dining and living areas all with an open concept floorplan. Down the stairs to the 7th floor, are both bedrooms, as well as both bathrooms. The bedrooms each have closets available for guests, and there are 2 smaller closets (under the stairs and above the main closet in the master) which are not available for guest use.

The living area and master bedroom both face the beach with full ocean views. The condo sleeps 8 people and a well-supplied kitchen and nice dining area also seats 8. There is a reverse osmosis water filtration system in the kitchen, making that water safe to drink. The water in the bathrooms is fine to use to brush your teeth, but do not drink it.

The TV in the living room is equipped with a ChromeCast device, so that you can stream your programming. The building also offers Megacable TV programming which has more local channels.

Walk to many restaurants right on the beach or conveniently catch the bus, taxi or Uber right in front of the building to explore the city.

Nice pool area (pool is heated) with a great poolside restaurant onsite for breakfast, lunch, & often dinner, all with a full bar.

Our unit has been recently upgraded with new floors, windows, toilets, kitchen finishes, and furniture upholstery.

Enjoyed our Mazatlan vacation

Our second year staying at Islays del Sol in the Golden Zone. An older building on the beach front in a great area. Walkable to many restaurants and shopping. The restaurant on site is worth a try, the food and service is great.

First time staying at this place and it overall went well. The property manager was great with communication. We had no hot water the first day but she took care of that issue right away. The windows in the living room and master bedroom had an amazing view of the beach and opened up like you were sitting outside.

Great place to stay in Mazatlan

We enjoyed our week in Mazatlan. The unit has an amazing view of the ocean and beach. The building though older has a great restaurant, ocean front patio and pool. It allowed us to walk on the beach to many nearby restaurants and shops. There is a wonderful super market a short walk away. We’ll be back to enjoy it again next year.

As we’d stayed here before, it was pretty much what we had expected. Amazing views, cute little restaurant and very warm pool. Definitely could use some upgrades to the actual suite; especially in the kitchen.

Wonderful!

This was our first time to Mazatlán and we came to visit new family (in-laws and first grandchild!) The condo was prefect for us. Plenty of space, beautiful views, ample kitchen gear to make home-made dinners, accommodating staff, and wonderful owners. Highly recommended. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great place, just needs better A/C in living area

Our overall stay was good, my family really loves Mazatlan. This condo has an amazing view and it is very family oriented. Very spacious however, we where never really able to use the upstairs area because the mini split broke down from day one. We reported it to maintenance and to the owners themselves and it was never taken care of during our stay.

We would love to go back to this unit, or another if available.

Our unit was comfortable and relatively clean with amazing views and location. We would definitely go back again. Front desk and cleaning staff were wonderful and efficient. William and family and food amazing. Only downside was getting issues within the suite or as advertised addressed in a timely matter or not it at all. No hot tub on site or no BBQ(only with fee) as stated in the VRBO listing. We made many attempts asking and ‘sometimes’ we got issues addressed and sometimes just ignored and never addressed. We eventually gave up asking. Not sure if this a VRBO, owner, or management deficiency? That said, we managed and are patient people for the most part but it might be a suggestion for your reference in future..Regards,Cindy and Dale

Condo with fantastic views!

This condo has amazing views from the living room and the master bedroom! It’s a corner unit, so allows an even more expansive view along the beach! We enjoyed views of both the sunrise and the sunset, owing to its great location in the building. It felt so fresh waking up and looking out of the window into the vast beautiful blue ocean! The condo is very spacious too! Annette was very responsive and thanks to her lovely condo that we could have an awesome stay in Mazatlan. The William’s cafeteria downstairs has some great breakfast food! William speaks English well and was very accommodating to our being vegetarians!! The front desk person, Rene, speaks English too and was very helpful! We could leave our clothes at the front desk for laundry and got them back neatly packed in a bag the same afternoon for an inexpensive price! This was a double bonus! Would love to come back!

misleading description of property.

No hot water in one bathroom. Hole in ceiling of en suite shower. No potable water available when checking in. Inside of condo was not very clean. Hotel staff taking inventory upon check in of towels and bath mats in the unit and having me sign the inventory sheet (very low class). No dish towels, sponge or dish detergent. My experience was so bad that I may not use VRBO again.

Nice stay in Mazatlan

A lot of good things to say about the property, starting with the great views of the ocean and beach from this end unit. Lovely beach to walk along. The building is older but clean, heated pool, nice restaurant on the property as others have pointed out. Building staff (desk, cleaning and maintenance) are great. Comfortable bed. The surrounding area has a good selection of restaurants within easy walking distance. We took a cab to Walmart a few times for groceries when we didn't feel like eating out. The presence of a nearby bar that has music going until 4 a.m. some nights was known in advance since another reviewer mentioned it. Light sleepers might find it annoying. Something we didn't expect was the almost daily cacophony of loud "Banda" music from numerous bands on the beach, from noon until dark. Search online travel forums for a description of Banda. One either likes it or doesn't. This affects ALL properties along the beach, not just this unit, so no fault of the owners.

Great Views

Nice, roomy unit. Well stocked kitchen. Beautiful ocean view from living area & master bedroom. Very good location. Friendly & helpful employees. Great communication with owners! On the down side, the unit was very dirty when we checked in. Food under the table and dirty floors up & downstairs. The unit could use some new pillows. Although there are numerous to choose from, all but one was lumpy. Both bathrooms & bedrooms are on the lower level. The stairs are a bit narrow & steep which we were fine with, but good to know up front if you have mobility issues. These negatives are all pretty minor & could be overlooked on a short stay. However, nothing can be done about the nightclub half a block away that blares music until 3:00 a.m.! The couple in the ocean side was kept awake by the music even with the sound of the crashing waves! It’s really loud.

2nd stay here

This condo is perfect for me when I travel from the US to visit my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter who currently live in Mazatlan. Plenty of space, kitchenette, and spectacular views. We celebrated granddaughter's 1st birthday down by the pool. We reserved the outdoor grill and shaded pavilion. Planning return trip for 2023 already!

The View from 8th floor

This place was amazing, the view and sound of the waves was on point. My family and I enjoy our stay right in the heart of La Zona Dorada. Raquel and Eunice were always available rapid respond to my messages. I will definitely booked in the future.

Joel and Leah are natives of Colorado and Charlie & Josey have lived there since the early 90s and early 2000s. We all live in rural CO in the midst of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We have been friends for many years!

Joel and Leah met in high school and have been married since 1994 and have two beautiful daughters in their early 20s. They return to Mazatlán twice a year to enjoy the beach and share the condo with family and friends.

Charlie and Josey met just after college and have been married since 2008. They have elementary aged children and fell in love with this condo and this area after being introduced to it by Joel & Leah in 2018!

We love people and if the timing works out, we would love to meet you and introduce the city to you!

Why they chose this property

This property is about 40 years old, it is simple, well-maintained, warm, friendly staff and has everything you need to live comfortably, including maid service! We think it's the nicest location for just hanging and walking everywhere easily. The restaurant onsite serves delicious food & drinks 7 days a week.

What makes this property unique

We love the sunsets, long walks on the beach north or south and the nearby and onsite restaurants close by and on the beach. You'll be welcomed and made to feel at home at Joe's Oyster Bar, Chili's Pepper, El Capitano, and many other beachfront hangouts. Taxi, Uber and bus transportation is directly in front of the condo. The 24/7 front desk is very helpful and can assist you with suggestions/reservations, etc.
