Desert Bungalow was great! It was just as pictured online which is always a relief! The location was great- less than a 15 minute walk to downtown which I loved. We would definitely stay there again!
Max was super responsive and the place was very clean, well-equipped for cooking and relaxing, and roomy. It was an oasis for us to return to after extremely busy days. The neighborhood was quiet, and it was a short walk to downtown. We highly recommend!
Loved the space, from the decor to the location it was all amazing. I’m not sure if it was just Tucson in general, but the service with my provider ATT was very spotty in the area. I have to emphasize that it’s best practice anywhere to have a way to access check in instructions offline.

Hi Naomi,
Thank you so much for the kind words and thoughtful review — we’re so glad you loved the space and the location! We really appreciate you highlighting the importance of having offline access to check-in info. That’s great feedback.
Just to share for future reference, we do send an interactive digital welcome book to your email a couple of days before check-in — it includes everything you need and can be downloaded for offline use. But we totally understand how tricky spotty service can be, and we’ll definitely keep looking for ways to make access even easier.
Thanks again for staying with us — it truly means a lot!

About the host
Hosted by Max Banach
I’m a longtime Tucson local who genuinely enjoys creating spaces that reflect the beauty and culture of the Southwest. Hosting gives me a chance to share a bit of the city I love and welcome people into a home that’s been thoughtfully curated to feel warm, relaxed, and distinctly Tucson. When I’m not hosting, you’ll usually find me outdoors, hiking, biking, or exploring local trails with my wife and our two dogs, Asher (a Great Dane) and Junior (a Maltipoo).
Why they chose this property
We chose the historic Amory Park neighborhood because it offers the perfect blend of local charm and downtown convenience. You’re just minutes from the heart of Tucson, yet the neighborhood feels peaceful and tucked away. There’s amazing food, historic architecture, and incredible mountain views all around, plus we love how walkable it is. It’s the kind of place that feels like home even if it’s your first time visiting.
What makes this property unique
The home itself is a piece of Tucson history, full of character, original architectural details, and old-Southwest charm you don’t find in newer builds. We’ve embraced that heritage by designing the space to highlight its unique bones while adding touches of modern comfort. From hand-textured walls to vintage tilework, it’s an authentic, beautifully preserved desert retreat.
