Tucked away on a peninsula in Gouldsboro, Maine you have discovered Saltwater Serenade, a sweet cabin so close to the water you feel like you are on a boat. Enjoy a storybook Maine vacation in this charming cottage with its own private beach. Imagine waking up to the sound of waves and the scent of saltwater, only to realize you’re not dreaming. The spacious back porch offers a front-row seat to breathtaking sunsets and feeling the refreshing salty breeze.

Built in 1935, this has been a family camp for generations and it has been completely updated with all the modern comforts, including wifi! It even has it's own private, sandy beach for swimming and kayaking.

There is one small, but comfortable bedroom with a double bed. A sleeping nook off the living room has a queen bed and a stunning view. An efficient kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a delicious dinner -- why not fresh seafood caught just off your backyard? In the evening, relax by the wood stove in your cozy living room or escape to the back porch, where the night sky is so clear and dark, you can see every star. A jack and jill bathroom between the bedrooms is clean and spacious. Pet friendly - Your dog will love exploring the beach with you!

You may be reluctant to leave this lovely spot, but there are nearby places to explore! Perhaps you could spare a day or two to visit Acadia National Park, lass than an hour drive. Ellsworth, known as the "Gateway to Acadia" is only 20 minutes away and has everything you need for shopping and a sweet main street that feels like you are stepping back into time. Winter Harbor is 10 minutes away and offers a ferry service directly to downtown Bar Harbor.

We had a wonderful time here, and highly recommend this waterfront gem. The beds were comfy, and the small but cozy kitchen well equipped. The ocean view was mesmerizing, and we watched lobster boats tending traps, a fantastic moonrise, and our dogs loved the swimming.The drive entry isn’t easily seen….turn in the next entry after 21.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay - My only feedback is that Ellsworth is NOT 20 minutes away, and Winter Harbor isn't 10 minutes away - it's 45 and 20 respectively, so plan ahead for supplies, it's not as quick of a jaunt to the store as we had anticipated - though there are smaller grocery stores closer than Ellsworth. The Cabin was lovely, the beach was incredible, and the setting was amazing. We will be back!

The location is great, very secluded and private. Amazing views right out the bedroom window. Has that remote cabinet feel on the inside. It's about an hour away from Bar Harbor which was perfect for us to make a day trip down there.Also local oysters and lobster are abundant. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the shower, it was either way too hot or way too cold, should be a simple fix to switch the controls.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The check in process was easy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the property was clean. I would definitely make sure you read the instructions the owner sends for getting there. My sister did not and had a hard time finding the driveway but my husband and I did and had no issues. Our first day was rainy but we still had a great day relaxing on the porch or sitting on the couch under the heater and watching the ocean. I watched the beautiful sunrises from either the couch or the bed every morning with my early riser one-year-old, who also took her very first steps on the porch!! All in all, we loved it here and are absolutely planning to return!

Location was great and private but very far from any stores. Be prepared to drive over a half hour to a gas station and an hour for coffee and food. Showering was terrible only had hot water for 2 minutes and it was either scalding hot water or ice cold no in between. The furniture in the living room is so gross and old like probaby over 30-40 yrs old. I really wish i was joking. I took picutres of the gross body stains on the chair it was like years of old sweat stains and the outline of someone's body. I wish i could upload the picture. To put this cottage on a rental platform is disgraceful, dont be a slumlord, dump a couple hundred bucks into the furniture. Really sad and gross.

We had a wonderful time!!

My husband, baby and I stayed here and celebrated our baby’s 1st birthday! It was the perfect secluded spot for us to enjoy a lovely vacation together. The private beach was so nice and the home was cozy and the perfect size for us 3. It had everything we needed to make ourselves at home! A few things on the description that were inaccurate: there didn’t appear to be any laundry which wasn’t inconvenient, but it was on the listing. Also Ellsworth is not 20 minutes away, it’s more like 45. Again, not a deal breaker, but just not accurate to list as such. There seemed to be maybe be some reno or updates happening at the home, but there was no wood burning stove, or door on the one bedroom where we had our baby sleep. Fortunately we found blankets to hang on the door frame to act as a door, but it’s something worth noting as I didn’t notice that in the photos!All in all was a really great house and location, just needs some updating in the description.
