'Kona Breeze' Luxury Smack on the Gulf of Mexico!

UPDATE-due to hurricane Ian our condo was extensively damaged and is not available to rent . Unfortunately we don’t know what the future will be for the Kona Beach club. We would like to thank all of our guests who have visited over the years.
It is our pleasure to welcome you our cozy, luxurious one bedroom retreat, right on the Gulf of Mexico! Endless gulf views, calming breezes, dolphins swimming by, and the rhythm of the waves await your arrival. The Polynesian/island decor features a bamboo poster bed, organic natural rubber mattress with adjustable base, full Simmons futon mattress in living room, fully-equipped kitchen with granite countertops, natural shellstone tile throughout, two televisions- 43 inch smart tv in living room and smaller one in bedroom.
Steps down from the condo you will have easy access to the white sand beach, and beautiful pool area- no elevator to wait for!

Here is your fun 'To DO' list while vacationing here:
shelling, dolphin watching, fishing at the nearby pier, discovering the local waterfront eateries, take the trolley to town, visit Sanibel/Captiva just fifteen minutes away, take a stroll (just a block away!) to The Pink Shell Resort and Spa. There you can have lunch at one of their 2 island themed open-air restaurants serving fresh seafood with a view of the Gulf, your favorite tropical drink at Bongo's pool-side bar, Starbucks Coffee, or to The Aquagene Spa for pampering. (due to Covid use of those facilities might be limited please call in advance)There is also a beach sports hut for rentals of jet skis, kayaks, boat rentals, parasailing, and boat excursions to view the dolphins- All open to the public! Included in your rental are starter supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent and soap. We also provide beach chairs, beach towels and a beach umbrella. Do not miss this great condominium for your next vacation! You are sure to have a relaxing and rejuvenating retreat.

Nice quiet stay

Great location on the beach convenient to everything but could use some upgrades regarding furniture Mainly the couch and a bigger TV in the bedroom We will probably stay there again.

A quiet gem on FMB

No complaints here…a perfect quiet spot on a quiet beach. Best part is watching the sunset on the patio! Pool is great and just a few blocks from shopping!

Beautiful beachfront property

We loved our stay at Kona Beach! The apartment had everything we needed and the view was perfect. We also enjoyed spending time at the pool which is heated. We really were able to relax and unwind in a quiet location just a few blocks from Times Square. Our host was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful romantic getaway

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved being able to sit on the porch every night and watch the sunset as the waves crashed in. The apartment itself was very clean and quaint. It had a very tropical, bungalow feel. We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be back.

Great things in a small package

It is a small condo that is perfect for a beachside getaway. The place was very well stocked with all the messes I ties to make the stay comfortable. The owner was responsive and accommodating. I Would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.

Great Views / Great Location

We truly had the best of both worlds when it came to views and location. We walked out our front door and we were greeted by the ocean, we would take a short walk down the beach and could enjoy food, drinks, great music, and super friendly people. We would stay again. The owner is great to work with and the condo is nice.

Beautiful Place!

Lisa (owner) let us check in a day early because it was vacant. The unit was clean, had an excellent beach view with gorgeous sunsets. We saw dolphins every morning and a manatee with her baby. Unit is equipped with anything you want as far as dishes, pots, pans, coffee makers, towels, beach chairs & umbrellas. I would highly recommend staying here.

Family Vacation

Stayed with my wife and teenage daughter. The size of the place was just perfect for the three of us. Being right on the beach was a huge plus and so convenient. The view from the balcony was great. I enjoyed using the BBQ but would recommend BBQ utensils. Other than that everything else was great. Thanks for the great stay.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect. Very quiet and low key but very close to restaurants and shops. The unit was clean and doable for cooking. Everyone we met on the condo grounds..pool/grilling area were extremely kind and very helpful and informative. We would definitely love a return visit in the future. The owner Lisa is very helpful and easy to reach. She addresses issues to make repairs/updates as needed. Thanks for the wonderful week!

Perfect getaway for rest and relaxation !

The Kona Beach Club is an excellent property for rest and relaxation, the beach is right out the front door with lounge chairs and beach towels for your use. Located with in a ten minute walk on the beach or sidewalks to numerous restaurants and bars so you do not need to move your car once you arrive. The condo has plenty of space for a couple to relax and has everything you would need for an extended stay, full kitchen and a great couch, the bed is got to be the most comfortable one we have ever slept on ! I would highly recommend this property for consideration if you want to spend time on the beach in the Fort Myers Beach area. Lisa is a great owner and will answer any questions quickly and thoroughly. The unit was spotless upon our arrival and all appliances worked perfectly. We will definitely stay here again !

awesome stay

wonderful place for 2 adults it was so nice. we can't wait to go back and we will for sure. We were able to walk from our condo to town for shopping, walking, food and much more. beautiful beach we saw dolphins all day , along with few sharks and manatees. So be careful in the water . the sea life was a show for us and we loved it. This condo is perfect for two it has all the tools u need for your stay. The only thing I would suggest to the owner is a floor fan for the bedroom. the desk fan vibrates so bad it dances across the floor or desk top. we look forward to next vacation with this condo.

Still in Awe

We are still in awe with our recent vacation!! Staying here was everything we hoped for and more! If you want to be right on the beach - this is it!! We’re still talking about the sunny days and amazing sunsets. This was our first experience with VRBO and we were very pleased. Lisa was an amazing host, very attentive to our needs and extremely personable. The unit is very well stocked, very clean, very cozy, very peaceful and very safe. The other guests were friendly and considerate. There were beach chairs available to sit by the ocean, a beautiful pool area, a grill which we used daily and a designated free laundry area. It’s a nice, quiet part of the beach, about a 10 minute to walk to Times Square. It’s the perfect location to relax and rejuvenate. Sitting on the balcony was a definite highlight - one of our favorite things! What a bonus of the unit! We didn’t have any problems at all, and if we had any concerns, we knew Lisa was a phone/text away!! We definitely look forward to returning!!

Don't Go There!

The location is excellent and sunsets incredibly beautiful. But that's it. I submitted a long list of things to be improved to bring this apartment up to snuff, but until that happens this place should be avoided by HomeAway travelers. There is no screen on front door or windows, kitchen is tiny, furniture is old and crowded, storage space is at a minimum and much of what there is is crowded with paint cans and general junk. Furniture both outside and in should be replaced. The one bed is old and uncomfortable. To top it off the place was wrapped in plastic as they were still painting and roofing the entire complex, and winds made it flap loudly as well as being unsightly. And naturally cars could not be parked in the lot. Very unsatisfactory, though Lisa the owner was duly apologetic and did what she could from afar.

Definitely needs some upkeep/repairs

The location was the best part of this property, I was under the impression it was located on the ground floor, it's on the second level. I thought we were in Sanibell Island and we were off Estrella Island. The bed sheets/comforter looked like they had been there since the 80's, as well as the shower curtain. It had old light switches that had broken off over time, so there were just sharp prongs sticking out of the wall in the bedroom, so with a king four posted bed placed in a very small bedroom, you had to squeeze between the end post and the wall, so this switch scraped my husband's arm several times during the stay to the point he was bleeding and had a fairly deep gash from the owners nit properly taking care of the repairs needed there. No central air, only a wall unit, no ice maker just very old broken ice trays that did not hold much water. Many very in inexpensive ways this property could have been presented much better but no one taking the time to do it. The papers on the table for check in info were out dated with old info on wifi password ect.... fake plants with dust all over them, a fan we needed to blow cooler air into the bedroom since the wall unit did not face the BR. covered in dust, would never have turned that on, so had to go buy a fan and leave it. So I was not thrilled with the ckeanliness, working condition of the place, furniture/bed uncomfortable. Wish I would have spent a little more and stayed elsewhere. Left a day early!

Great location

Located on the north end of Fort Myers Beach, this condo is walking distance or a trolley ride from Times Square, restaurants, grocery stores, activities and shopping. It’s a small complex in a very quiet area, with a beach that is never crowded. Best of all is the view. There is a narrow balcony where you can sit to watch dolphins play in the ocean, enjoy the gorgeous sunsets or relax after dark enjoying a nice breeze while watching boats come back to the area. The towels provided were great. Neighbors were very friendly and helpful. The unit itself is in need of a lot of maintenance and repair. The screen on the front window was broken and bent, the mirrored closet doors are free hanging and cracked in numerous places, the bedroom lamp is broken, and more than half the light bulbs were burned out when we arrived. We got in contact with the owner the 3rd day we were there, who said she would send someone to change the light bulbs, but nobody came before we left 11 days later. It was so dark it was difficult to cook (light over stove also burned out) or do dishes. We wanted to watch the Olympics in the evening, but the TV pixelated or just blacked out too often to even turn it on most of the time. The listing says there is an ice maker, CD player, CDs, board games and videos, which there weren’t. There was one tiny mini-icecube tray. The kitchen is not very well-stocked with cooking or serving items. Having said that, we would return here IF all of the deficiencies were corrected. You can’t beat the view! (If you stay here, take a dated picture of everything that isn’t up to par the day you arrive. It will save headaches later.)

All in all, was a little disappointed

The location was great. We arrived to the Kona right after a large rainstorm and our portion of the parking lot was flooded with about 3 inches of water. There was no way to get to our room without getting our shoes completely soaked. I was afraid my shoes would be ruined. I realize there is no way for the owner to correct this but this is how our trip started. As we climbed the stairs, we get to our door and I was completely thrown off by the door. It’s not the usual door you see to an apartment, house, etc. It’s a totally clear-glass, store-front door that opens out. The opening out part to me seems dangerous if someone were to come to our door. I’m probably being nit-picky with this, but it threw me off. The unit was very clean (with the exception of one part that I’ll get to in a moment) which is the most important thing but the furnishings looked old and a little beat up. The listing said the unit could sleep five but for the life of me, I have no idea where. I’m thinking the max would be 4 and that’s only if you put 3 in the king size bed. My husband is 6 ft. tall and is disabled from a head injury. The ceilings are very low and we couldn’t use the ceiling fan because my husband could have easily been hit in the head by the moving fan blades which hang very low. Of the 7 puck/ceiling lights throughout the unit, only one was actually functioning. There was basically no hand soap. I realize we have to bring our own toiletries but hand soap would seem like a staple item. There was about 1/4 - 1/2 inch left in a dispenser in the bathroom but it was so low that it wouldn’t come out of the pump. I had to add water to be able to use. With Covid, I was irritated with this. I didn’t want to buy some considering we were only staying 4 nights. I was excited to see the patio chairs were rocking chairs until I sat in them. Neither of them rock because they’re both broke on bottom. But you could sit in them with no problem - just couldn’t rock. Lastly, while the unit was clean, the shower head was disgusting. All the holes hand mildew on them. I did bring it up to our host and she apologized and first mentioned getting someone there to clean it but then let me know there some was some disinfectant in the unit so I could clean it myself. :-( I would not stay there again. I felt like the owner doesn’t want to put a dime into keeping it up - it could definitely use some sprucing up.

We planned this trip months in advance for my 60th Birthday. Although the location was absolutely perfect, this rental is outdated and the check in was awful. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm, per the CONTRACT, We arrived at 420 and it was still being cleaned!!! I tried for 90mins to get ahold of the owner with no luck. We left to get supplies for the week when she finally called and said it was ready. At this point it was 2hrs past our check in time and we had been traveling for more then 12hrs. Frustrating to say the least. The condo/apartment is in a perfect location, but the condo itself was so outdated. The door was from an old grocery store with no screen door. The curtains that cover the front door window area were held up with a cheap rod that was flimsy and barely held them up and we had to find pepper clips to close the gaps so as not to let light out at night, due to turtle season. There was absolutely NO CLOSET SPACE. The closets were so jam packed with supplies and junk toy couldn't hang up your clothes or put your luggage away we landed up hanging our clothes from the bed posters. The furniture in the living room was dated and worn. The kitchen supplies were so missed matched we had to scrounge to find what we needed. The air conditioning was loud and old. When we looked at the other units in the compound, they all had been replaced with efficiency ones. Our friends stayed at the same complex in a different unit, and it was crazy how beautiful the other place was compared to what we had. And it was cheaper!!!! We were also promised a $50 dollar refund for the check in complications, and have yet to receive it and the owner ignoring my email. Think twice!!!

Perfect for young family of 4

This is a gem of a place for a young family of 4. The location is great and we also made use of the pool, laundry facility, beach chairs/umbrella, and beach towels. The kitchen met our needs and our boys (5 and 8) shared the pull out futon. We had a great time in this cozy place on the beach!

Lovely Location

Checkin was easy, Location was PERFECT. When we arrived, we had no water. The owner responded quickly, and water was turned on BUT no hot water! I texted owner, and did not get a response until 8.5 hrs later. Thank God we did not have anywhere special we had to be. My boyfriend found that the hot water tank was turned off and fixed it himself after 9 hrs. The condo really needs updated. The "couch" is like outdoor furniture and VERY uncomfortable- as is the bed. The chair only reclines so far and very uncomfortable. No dishwasher and absolutely no counter space to dry your dishes. The stove is old and burners are uneven. The lights flicker when you try and dim them. The front window screen is popping out and doesn't lock. It does have adequate pots/pans/silverware/steak knives, etc... The Condo next to us is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous decor. I think this place could use many, many updates- but you cannot beat the location. The pool was very clean and inviting and if you love shells, this part of the beach has a ton of shells to collect. The sunsets were the highlight of our evening with the perfect view. We would visit again, but we would choose another unit.
