Full disclosure, the host did say there was no A/C, but that was not the issue. We were there about 4pm, opened windows (that we could open), but the musky air was too much, my friend was sneezing and felt miserable. The host stated there were fans. All we found was a ceiling fan in one bedroom and a small portable desktop fan. Upstairs sink had hair in it, cobwebs in many places. Living room was so dark, one small light. We sat outside and I began looking for an alternative. Finally found a place available (4th of July weekend). Locked the door, notified the host and stopped in a near by town for dinner, we both felt better, and could breathe fine again. Not being dramatic, but so glad I took the financial hit and found a sparkling clean comfortable place.

About the host

My wife and I live in Atlanta, GA and have two teen children. I grew up going up to Highlands, NC to visit my grandparents as a child and now my Uncle owns that home. We love to hike, go to Bucks for coffee(Cashier, NC), adventure to the many waterfalls just a couple miles away, rent a pontoon boat at Signal Ridge Marina on Lake Glenville, and mostly enjoy the quiet with a nice fire at our home here in Cullowhee "Whee", NC.

Why they chose this property

My wife is the pro at finding our cool spots. When we were dating I brought her to Highlands, NC and after just a couple trips she was hooked. From there we started looking for our mountain spot and landed in Jackson County. We have fallen in love with Cullowhee and Marlett Road. So much we got married at this home.

What makes this property unique

We love this home because it is close enough to everything we enjoy but far away to hear the creek on our property, be washed over by the stars above at night from the master br, and a perfect place to help 2 high functioning adults get away from our city lives.
