The secluded 4-acre property is equidistance (30 minutes) between the small towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay where you will find a number of things to do year round! Plentiful walking/biking trails, waterfalls, tubing, and white water rafting, quaint shops and downtown eateries, multiple vineyards, and local arts & crafts. Festivals are held year-round and are fun for all ages. Fishing, Biking, 4-wheeling adventures await.
The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Tickanetley Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 5-10 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

Perched on four wooded acres with private creek access and backed directly by the Chattahoochee National Forest, The Big Dipper is a quiet, camp-style escape designed for couples who want to unplug and slow down. In spring, the woods soften into green, dogwoods bloom along the trails, and the creek runs a little fuller after winter rains.
Guests love the stillness here — windows open to cool mountain air, birdsong drifting through the trees, and the steady sound of water below. It feels tucked deep in the forest, yet you’re still an easy drive to Ellijay and Blue Ridge for slow afternoons exploring orchards, wineries, trails, and small mountain towns just beginning to wake up for the season.
Inside, the cabin is intentionally simple — grounded, warm, and thoughtfully lived-in. Vintage camp character blends with modern comfort, centered around a massive stone fireplace, relaxed seating, and a well-stocked kitchen meant for slow mornings and shared meals. It’s the kind of place where conversation lingers, time softens, and quiet hours are spent padding across wooden floors.

Everything you need is within a 20-45 minute beautiful scenic drive. You can explore so many small mountain towns from the cabins - Ellijay, Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Blairsville, Dawsonville & Dahlonega.
DRIVING: Last 0.5 miles of road to cabin is unpaved and bumpy at times, super low riding vehicles are NOT recommended and large recreational vehicles are NOT allowed. Print out driving instructions to and from the cabin and plan to check-in before dark.
DOGS: Dogs are WELCOME! We love our fur babies, but this property allows a maximum of two dogs and the pet fee is per stay. Please, clean paws only in the house and if you would like to snuggle with your dog on the couch, please use the dog blanket to lay on the furniture. Additional cleaning fee may be applied for excessive shedding.
CELL SERVICE: You will lose cell service approximately 15 minutes away from the cabin (based on carrier) with some random spots along the way. You can log into WiFi once in the cabins and enable WiFi calling and send/receive text messages and emails.
LOFTED BEDROOM: There are no walls or doors that separate the lofted sleeping area from the living space on the main floor. This cabin would not be suitable for guests who would like privacy in sleeping quarters. Would be ideal for a small family with kids older than 5 years old.
VRBO/DIRECT GUESTS: You will be required to complete a basic guest verification process and select either a $35 damage waiver (non-refundable) or $500 refundable security deposit with a $15 processing fee before your reservation is complete. Any cancellations or refunds will be charged a 4% processing fee as we are charged 4% by the credit card processor to collect payment.
