Rustic Cabin trout fishing, dog loving, beach area on secluded 8.5 acres! 001504
Stix and Stones Hilltop Cabin is a very private log cabin nestled in the woods on a charming 8.5 acre large, secluded lot. We offer big weekly discounts.
This rustic little slice of heaven is perched on a beautifully landscaped hilltop overlooking its grassy valley. Enjoy chilling out, swimming, fishing, or just listen to the rushing water of Stover Creek that runs through the property.
Savor utmost privacy all year long with no neighbors in view. Relieve the stress of life further by watching local wildlife watching by. Relish the best nature has to offer from the veranda from one of the rocking chairs, or dine on the open sided furnished porch with gas grill. Prefer a charcoal grill? There is one located just off the deck. When it gets cold outside, relax in a rocking chair in front of a real wood burning stove. Firewood is provided.
If you have dogs, please click on the {guest >} and add the pet fee. We welcome and love dogs, have one ourselves, they are family. They are allowed to run free. There is also a 1/4 acre fenced area right at the cabin.
There are 2 bolder fire pits for eating on the grounds areas, covered parking area for recreation vehicles, and even an area for horse trailers. Three full bedrooms provide sleeping for up to six adults. Two full baths, washer and dryer are offered for guest laundry. The kitchen is well equipped including refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, electric stove and oven. There is a Smart TV, YouTube, Prime Video, DVD player, ETC fiber, and WIFI, the cabin has central heat and air.
Our little slice of paradise is located in the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area of the Chattahoochee National Forrest, only an hour and a half from Atlanta. The surrounding area beckons with fun and adventure all year long. The Benton MacKaye and Appalachian Trail heads are about 12 miles away on Springer Mt. Aska and other trails lead to beautiful waterfalls, swinging bridges and fabulous mountain views. Infinite fishing opportunities await you at stocked and natural streams. Kayaking and tubing are offered on the close by Cartecay and Toccoa rivers, they also provide inexpensive shuttles and take you back to your car. More challenging whitewater rafting is close by. Enjoy biking? Get your mountain bikes ready and explore the trails or spend a day horse back riding.
The quaint little town of Ellijay is about 15 miles away. Downtown Ellijay offers an abundance of antique shops, art galleries, boutiques and fabulous restaurants. Streets buzz in October during the annual Apple Festival, a guests favorite! Most orchards are open year round and offer tours. Hayrides, putt-putt golf and petting zoos are most treasured by our younger guests. Special occasion around the corner? Summit Wedding Farm is just minutes away. The opportunities are endless!
The historic city of Blue Ridge is about 25 miles away from the cabin. There you can board an old fashioned train for an excursion along the Toccoa River. Blue Ridge is famous for its shopping, bars and restaurants. Or simply drive up the winding roads of Northwest GA - it is breathtaking! Everywhere you go you will be greeted by Southern hospitality and charm, many of the locals have a few stories to tell.
We are excited to welcoming you soon at our little slice of heaven and share what we love most. Stix and Stones Hilltop Cabin is quite special and unique. Visit us soon and experience it yourself!

Absolute paradise! Property is amazing, house has everything you could want or need and so accommodating to your pet. Look forward to coming back soon!
Amazing cabin, clean, beautiful, and well stocked with everything we needed! The entire property was truly stunning, from the area down by the creek to the fire pit area, the dog run, and the way the cabin was decorated, we loved everything about it! Thank you for sharing your one of a kind property with us and for being great hosts!! After a really difficult 2025, this was the best way to rest, recharge and enjoy each other!
The home and property were very clean. We had everything we could possibly need and then some. Highly recommend this property for a quiet getaway and if you have a dog, they will be very pleased as well.
Such a beautiful cabin! If you want secluded and peaceful, this is it! The cabin had everything we needed and our dogs loved being free to run.About 25 minutes away from just about everything.Just what we needed!
We had an amazing time! Very cozy sweet cabin with plenty of room to roam and relax.Hosts were amazing! They have thought of everything to make you comfortable.Love the creek!
This was by far the best property we’ve stayed with out dogs. Plenty of land to roam freely and lots of privacy. The house is super cozy and had so many games and items for the kiddos. The kitchen is well stocked. The cabin is rural yet just a short drive to Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Andrew was super responsive and very accommodating. We hope to go back soon.
Everything was great, hard to leave a place so welcoming and beautiful. By far the best experience we had on vacation as a family. We will be back - thank you and happy holidays
We had a great stay. Very quiet with no one around. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a cabin in the woods that is serene and relaxing. Plenty of amenities, great hot water and comfortable. We rent a cabin each year between Christmas and New Year's. This one was a bit smaller than we're used to, but only slightly. Easy location. The oven is a bit smaller than usual but was fine for our family of four and one guest.Highly recommended, comfortable, and quiet. Would stay again!
Beautiful cabin! Wonderful owners! It's deep in the middle of the woods, fully equipped with everything you can dream up. The stream is a short hike away from the cabin, but it was nice. We would definitely stay again but a little longer.
This is a fantastic cabin that is super dog friendly. My family and I had a great time. The power went out and the host was communicative and helped us get a generator going. Very much enjoyed this property and would love to visit again!
Super cute and secluded cabin in Ellijay. My family and doggies had a wonderful stay. The fenced in yard was perfect for our 4 legged babies to play in. The creek was also a big hit for everyone.
We had the best time and so did our pup! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of having everything you could need & a fully stocked kitchen. We plan to return! Great hosts!
Check-in was easy, the property was beautiful and very well maintained. Kitchen had everything you could need to get by. Loved my stay and I would stay there again. Everything looked picture perfect when I walked in. No complaints, me and my family really enjoyed the front porch and how picturesque the property and cabin was. Thanks for a great vacation.
This was a great place to stay, would recommend it to anyone. We had a blast.

About the host
Hosted by Andrew and Suzanne Rice
Once upon a time…We always dreamed about owning some land in the mountains. Lots of acreage, and on the water.
The perfect opportunity presented itself in early 2008, and one day we were the proud owners of 8.5 acres with creek access and in dire need of a lot of work. And we loved it!
Fast forward to 2023, we were going for authentic and rustic, like a cabin is supposed to be, and according to the many 5 Star reviews, we did a decent job :).
From the porch to the patio with gas grill, the basketball court, the fenced yard, we have a little bit for everyone. Not even going to bore you with any details, yes, we have dining, a fridge, and a TV. You can see all this in the pictures.
What you cannot see, is how beautiful and stunning the property is - pictures don't do it justice! It is May, everything is in bloom right now, the grass is lush and green and the creek is rushing down after a good night's rainfall. Rumors have it that there might even be tiny gold nuggets in river "wink". This little section is a trout fisherman's dream. You won't have people treading on your territory while you are trying out your talents as a trout fisherman.
Local wildlife is just around the corner, and if you are one of the lucky ones, they will come and greet you. Individual walkways lead you in the right direction, and a couple of hand painted signs help you to a fabulous stay.
We have firewood in large piles for your fire pit or the wood burning fireplace inside. Everything is done to make you feel cozy and right at home. You are completely sheltered from the outside world. Having said that, Wi-Fi is there if you need it.
The lower field by the creek used to be a lama farm. The massive concrete pad had a building, and was used for entertaining guests. There is an old outhouse, and hearing it up got plenty of use. It still stands today.
Swing by the grocery store on your way to this secluded cabin, because you will not want to leave again while staying there.
Why they chose this property
If you feel like going on an expedition, there is so much to do!
Day trips to Ellijay and Blue Ridge to savor food trucks, restaurants and to take in all the shopping. Bring your fur babies, they are welcome almost everywhere! An abundance of hiking opportunities, kayaking, boating and trout fishing. Local orchards, vineyards,
petting zoos, …I could go on and on.
What makes this property unique
We love to thrift as you can see by our interesting decor. Quite different from your ordinary cabin rental. It is almost like a mini-museum of articles from the area, each item that you see has its own little secret story. You can imagine how much fun to decorate, almost completely secondhand, watching it all come into fruition. The decor evolves, because we continue to shop and bring in new pieces. Most of the
furniture is either antique or vintage. We love working together to refinish and to restore furniture.
We both love nature! We are constantly looking for ways to bring nature inside. The
large framed picture in the kitchen is a collectible print, painted by Andy's uncle, Dale Bratcher. He was quite successful, and recognized for his watercolor paintings in the Kentucky area. Also, on that same wall is a picture of us, the owners.
There are lots of farms in the area, representative of the farms is a genuine cowhide hanging above the sofa. There are also genuine deer antlers on the mantle above the fireplace. Another unique specimen of nature are the huge hornet's nests hanging in the stairwell. Andy actually located and retrieved these himself without being stung.
Downstairs, you will see a beautiful deer hide on wall. The old wood stove on the back porch Andy restored lovingly. Ask us about how we got the piece into the cabin!
The area is rich in Indian history, displayed throughout the cabin. Apple decor is representative of Ellijay's wonderful yearly Apple Festival and a picture of Old Glory shows our Patriotism.
We decided to leave our half bath unfinished with lots of signs to read while you carry on about your business. Add a sign if you like!
All in all, we have tried to make your stay fun, comfortable, cozy, relaxing, interesting,
memorable, did we leave anything out? This is us, unique, for you, our unique guests.
Come, visit and enjoy the uniqueness.
Sincerely, Andrew and Suzanne
