We really enjoyed our stay at the barndominium! It was so clean and beautiful. Plenty of room and a nice kitchen with high end appliances. The grandkids loved the finished “play” garage. Would definitely stay there again.

We go to this area each year for a weekend to spend time on Norris Lake. This year was our first time at the Barndominium, and it is a family favorite. It is beautiful, spacious, and fun. We didn’t feel cramped, even with a party of 13. The dock is a walk, but it is a scenic walk that is relaxing and enjoyable. The hosts were informative, helpful, and transparent. We felt prepared for the trip and all that the home and its location offered. We would definitely stay again!

Here’s a review that sounds genuine and highlights a great bachelor party experience:We stayed here for my bachelor party with a group of 11 guys, and I can honestly say this place exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything was exactly as advertised—clean, spacious, and incredibly well maintained. There was more than enough room for all of us to hang out comfortably without ever feeling crowded. The common areas were perfect for spending time together, and the bedrooms were comfortable after long days and late nights. The property had everything we needed, and you could tell the owners put a lot of thought into making it a great place for groups.Communication with the host was excellent, check-in was simple, and the entire stay was completely hassle-free.If you’re looking for a place for a guys’ trip, girls trip, family vacation, or any large group, I couldn’t recommend this place more. Every single person in our group loved it, and we’d all stay here again in a heartbeat. The nicest vacation house I have stayed in. 10/10 across the board. Thanks for helping make an unforgettable weekend even better!

Great location, liked having ability to drive our stuff down to the dock, house was really nice and clean, host very responsive for anything needed over our stay - wish we didn’t have to provide our own towels but not the biggest deal

If you are flying in, this home is not for you. No towels are provided, not even a hand towel in the bathroom. You will need to check a bag of towels. If you like privacy, this home is not for you. There are three large windows in the three main living spaces- kitchen, dining, and living room, with no blinds or curtains. These windows directly face the owners home that is about 50 feet away. At night it is like a lit up fishbowl. There was a camera on the back porch pointing directly into the main living area. My husband immediately turned it away from the interior The house was uncomfortably warm when we arrived and the thermostat would not allow us to lower the temperature due to a locked schedule that kept the temperature at 76 degrees. We had to remove it from the Wi-Fi in order to override the schedule (which subsequently upset the owner). There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher upon arrival and only 1 dishwasher soap provided. We went to enjoy the lake but since not a single item is available (lawn chair, pool float, beach towels, etc), we had to purchase everything and leave it behind. Needless to say at this point, we could hardly appreciate the nice furniture and spacious home due to the overwhelming lack of amenities and privacy. Technically we did not have any issues and should have read the fine print. Bottom line this home was a 3 star for my family.

First of all we take pride in communicating with our guests and are upfront with what we provide. The guest must not have read the welcome packet we send out because they called us when they got to the house and we had to give them their specific door code again. A quick turnaround for washing and drying sheets does not allow enough time for towels. The other house on the property is about 120 feet away and no windows face the barn. This hasn’t been a problem for 15 months prior to this guest. There are cameras on the barn that are off during the summer. They help with insurance purposes during late fall through early spring. The thermostats are easily adjustable and have never been a problem. The guest turned the WiFi off on the thermostat, which I didn’t know was possible, and caused me over 2 hours of time in figuring out what they had done. They wouldn’t return my calls or texts. The dock has a table and plenty of chairs and the porch is well equipped so I don’t know what the guest was talking about. We have been renting since 2013 and have been a Premier Host for most of that time and this is the first time we have received less than a four star rating and 9 times out of 10 we received a five star.

Great Tennessee getaway

We had a good experience. The property was new and well kept. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed to prepare dishes at the house. Lots of bedroom space for the family. The owner was quick to reply to any questions and concerns and help to make the process smooth. The dock was strong and secure and felt comfortable with leaving our boat there overnight. Would definitely return.

First in Beautiful Norris Lake Barndimonium!

We had an amazing time at this wonderful barndimonium of Norris Lake. It was so clean and inviting and had everything we needed to have a splendid vacation. We really enjoyed the large barn area with games, a tv, and seating area. Yes… the ceiling is high enough for indoor cornhole! The owner was very responsive to any questions as I believe we were the first to stay in this lovely and unique property. Our favorite part was the private dock which was a short 5-10 minute walk from the property. We were able to park our watercraft there and the sunsets from the dock were absolutely breathtaking. I’d recommend this property to anyone looking for a Norris Lake getaway!

Great location for a long weekend stay with teens and adults.

This property was perfect for our stay. Close location to the highway, marina to put our boat in the water, and separate private dock for keeping it over our stay. Parking near private boat dock could hold at least two cars, walkable but so nice to be on your boat minutes from the house by car. The large garage converted to game area was a huge hit for the teenagers. Plenty of space inside for eating and socializing on the large couches. Everything seemed brand new from our stay and very nice high end finished have been installed. The owner provided a very detailed and helpful set of instructions and made sure we could easily communicate if any issues came up. I would recommend reading the instructions very carefully so you know what provisions you need to bring yourself. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again!

What a beautiful and well equipped property! Very clean, everything we needed, great interior spaces, comfy beds. Our kid crew LOVED having their own space in the garage/hangout space. Everything we needed to cook for our large crew of 11 was there and we especially loved having the second fridge…clutch! The short walk to the dock is actually so much better than a steep climb up lots of stairs or hills. Owners were awesome to work with and we plan to rent again! Highly recommend this property!

About the host

Laura and I live in Alexandria KY about 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. We love to travel and our happy place is on Norris Lake especially when we get to spend time with our kids and grandkids. We started coming to Norris around 2000 and built our first house in 2013. We were a Premier Host on VRBO for 5 years and took much pride in maintaining this statis.

Why they chose this property

Our first property was near Deerfield and as the lake kept getting busier and busier, we wanted to get to an area that wasn't quite so busy. Plus, instead of an hour off the interstate it's 15 minutes and the roads are considerably easier to drive. So going to the grocery store or to town for dinner is much more convenient.

What makes this property unique

Proximity to the lake, the screened in porch, the massive garage and the open concept of the layout makes for a great stay.
