Property Review

The experience overall was great, the location is in a bad/scketchy area of New Orleans, future customers should be notified of this issue and warned to be cautious of the area

Cute house, interesting & eclectic area, poor response & amenities

Very cute house & interesting neighborhood! One garbage bag & trash can was already filled when we checked in. No other cleaning supplies were supplied except for dish soap. Hallway under HVAC vent very dirty. Messaged host, reply was quick,& indicated that they would "alert cleaner to drop some more off"; the broom & dustpan request was replied to w/"We don't have those but I'll see if cleaner can drop one she has off." There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience. We heard nothing more; no supplies were dropped off. Other reviews have mentioned the lack of supplies. We stayed four nights & ended up purchasing our own garbage bags, paper towels (1/3 roll was provided), & more toilet paper (1 & 3/4 roll was provided). No laundry soap, but nice washer/dryer. If not supplying, please indicate in advertisement; we would have made a different choice or come prepared. Not having a vehicle on the trip made the shopping more inconvenient. Also no hair dryer, first aid kit, or fire extinguisher on premises accessible to guest - all drawers, cabinets, & closet were checked; these are all items listed on the advertisement. Finally, the alarm system wasn't operational. Security could be an issue, especially since, as mentioned before, the code to the door is extremely intuitive. No check out instructions provided except time. Bottom line: the house was super cute, but the advertisement should reflect reality re: supplies, alarm, & host service level after check in.

Beautiful Space, Experience Needs Improvement

The property is one half of a duplex, and was for the most part, a great stay. Positives, it was clean and well maintained and the neighborhood was very friendly. The beds are on the firmer side but super comfortable. Great shower and beautifully decorated. Definitely know that this is a residential area and while there's a bus route nearby, we never found trolly access. Downside, it could definitely be better supplied. There was no handsoap and one single trash bag (cheap and busted on us trying to clean up before leaving). While laundry is on-site, there was no supplied detergent. In general, there were no cleaning supplies. While not an issue for a longer stay, it wasn't great to purchase these for the one load we did. I also never could locate the trash toter. Most concerning for us was security. While we didn't feel uncomfortable in the area, we did end up purchasing a door latch lock as the alarm system was not functioning and the door code is scarily easy to guess by the worn down numbers and being the equivalent of choosing "password". Also while pictures of the backyard are shown in the listing, the two access doors to it were locked from the outside with no ability to open in the unit. While no access is fine, it did make both of us a little put off to not have visibility when both doors are located in bedrooms- especially with the flood light flashing in the door window all night. You can also hear *everything* from the next door unit. Not for light sleeper
