About this property
The Jetsons Sunset Penthouse - Iconic Birds Nest - Urban Retreat Honolulu
Why rent a room when you can rent a vibe?
With over 900 sq ft of thoughtfully designed space, the Jetsons Sunset Penthouse feels more like three studio apartments sharing a stunning, pie-shaped layout with nearly 400 sq ft of wraparound lanai. Originally part of a swanky urban hotel, it still holds that iconic “Old Hawai‘i” charm — now paired with sleek, modern upgrades.
Each of the two primary guest rooms is a self-contained suite with its own ensuite bath and private entry, separated by a stylish open-concept living area and chef’s kitchen. Floor-to-ceiling sliders open onto the breezy lanai, perfect for entertaining, lounging, or simply soaking in the skyline and fireworks.
The fully equipped kitchen features a bespoke full-size fridge, electric stove with built-in air fryer, hidden drawer-style dishwashers, and a complete coffee station. Dine outdoors at the weatherproof picnic table and catch sunset cocktails or sunrise coffee — or both. Why choose?
Brand-new triple-zone split A/C minis let each guest control their comfort independently, or enjoy natural trade winds through vintage jalousie windows. Every room includes floor-to-ceiling motorized blackout curtains for comfort and privacy.
Flexible Use Options
This stylish penthouse is located in a unique mixed-use building — legally designated for hotel, residential, and business use. Sounds cool, right? We think so too. But thanks to some ever-evolving (and often confusing) local regulations, we’ve added this friendly disclaimer to keep everything crystal clear:
• Staycations – For stays of 30+ days, you’re welcome to use the space for living, working, or a blissful blend of both.
• Workations – For shorter visits, this space is reserved for business use: think remote work, creative production, corporate retreats, or “strategic” friend meetings over wine and whiteboards.
Luxury stays, for working days — or anything in between.
Rather than get tangled in bureaucracy, we’ve chosen to embrace the full potential of this space. We’re also launching a curated Work/Play/Stay Collection with Luxe-Nesting to reimagine how guests experience mixed-use destinations.
By booking, you acknowledge your intended use aligns with these allowed uses and supports responsible hosting in Hawai’i’s evolving hospitality landscape.*
Privacy + Convenience
Each suite features a private smartlock entry, ensuite bath, and floor-to-ceiling sliders for direct lanai access — creating a uniquely private setup in a beautifully shared space.
For custom availability or questions about your stay, feel free to reach out.

About the host
Hosted by CARREN M SEIDEL

I'm a data scientist by trade and hosting is what I do for fun, but also what I'm doing for my family's future. We are an extended, blended family of love and circumstance but travel and sharing our family spaces with you brings me great personal joy and satisfaction. It is a true labor of love. As we grow our offerings and share them with you, we are sharing a little piece of who we are as a family and the comforts we want to share with you and yours.
Why they chose this property
This is an iconic classic Hawaiian resort area that is tucked one street behind Waikiki's main drag. This particular condo building was an original condo hotel in Waikiki's early days but is in walking distance to all of the same resorts, shopping, restaurants that are more well known, one street over. That means that you get to enjoy the urban lifestyle of walking everywhere, including to the beach, if you want or just hunkering down and watching sunsets directly from your lanai. But without the heavy traffic of Kalakaua. Yes, we chose it for its spectacular 180 degree views that show off the ocean, gorgeous sunsets, ominous rainclouds drifting in over the mountains and ridges every evening or the city lights which are stunning in their own right. Its a unique space and was the original developer's own penthouse, never on the market until we fell in love with it and made it our own. My husband is responsible for every renovation and loving detail you see and I take great pride in sharing his love for this space with you. We think it is a real treasure and stay here every chance we get!
What makes this property unique
Everything about this property is unique. From the round solid concrete block building, to the wraparound connected lanais, to the open floorplan shaped like pie pieces to our unique and functional kitchen. Just about every detail in this unit was planned with function and form in mind. If you aren't comfortable here, then the Ritz Carlton is just next door. Yes, the Ritz is our neighbor. If you also need parking without the price tag, you will especially appreciate this condo. Most resort parking is over $65/night which is just outrageous but we are lucky to have a dedicated parking spot included with the condo. Street parking is also usually available which is unheard of in Waikiki. If you want something swanky, private and cozy, then come on home. We'll keep the light on.
