Just north of San Diego’s buzzy Downtown, this is the centre of the county’s LGBT+ scene, known for bustling gay bars and the city's annual Pride parade. University Avenue is fringed with restaurants serving global cuisine, and the weekly Hillcrest Farmers Market sells flowers and fresh produce. The mix of cafes, breweries and vintage clothes shops on Fifth Avenue makes Hillcrest a popular weekend destination for visitors and locals alike. And Mission Hills offers picturesque streets and breathtaking city views.

Below are some appreciative comments from our past guests:
"... My stay at this urban single-family stay in San Diego was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the vibrant, mid-century modern vibe that permeated every corner of the space.
The location was ideal, situated in a vibrant neighborhood with trendy shops, cafes, and restaurants just a short stroll away. I appreciated the convenience of having everything I needed within walking distance, yet still feeling tucked away in my own private haven.
Overall, my experience at this San Diego urban single-family home was exceptional. The thoughtful design, impeccable amenities, and prime location made it the perfect home base for my visit to the city. I can't wait to return and experience its charm all over again."
"... Wow! What a house! We have stayed in many places in San Diego and I think this was my favorite spot. The house was spacious and the yard space was wonderful. We have family in the area so having parking for them to come over and visit was super important. We easily fit 3 cars on the driveway. Lots to do within walking distance too. Thanks for the fabulous communication as well. Can’t wait for our next stay."
"... Staying at Mursalin-Sonia's place was an absolute delight for our multigenerational family trip to San Diego! From our 5-year-old to our seniors, everyone felt right at home. The location was ideal, with easy access to all the attractions. The space itself was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Mursalin-Sonia was wonderful host, responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend for families of all ages!"
"... Such a lovely place. We felt right at home and it was conveniently located to get to places quickly. This is the second time we are staying and we look forward to staying there again the next time we are in San Diego.
What an amazing stay! Perfect for our girls weekend trip. Location was perfect and close to anything you could want!
The house was very clean and found all we needed. So we booked different home and the home was not what we expected when we arrived and we were looking for a different one around 9pm since we didn't wanted to stay the night there and when we saw this one we tried to reserve and Mursalin- Sonia responded right away and accommodated us that late. He was very responsive whenever we asked him question. .."

About the host

Now:
We appreciate architecture, art, food and people. We think of vacations as oxygen and we think food is religion. We have been to 40+ countries and list is growing every year. Our mission to go to all the national parks in USA is on hold after the arrival of our little one, we shifted our attention to urban traveling and our little one has been to 20+ countries spanning three continents already.
Before:
We moved about 13000 km from South Asia to East coast, then two years toiling in grad school, we moved another 4200km to San Diego to work in the high tech and called it our home. We lived most of our adult life in San Diego and moved to North park before it was cool. When our little one started taking over our cozy century old craftsman bungalow, we moved to Kensington in a 90 year old Spanish revival.

What makes this property unique
This home is the ideal place to stay for a group of friends or family looking to explore San Diego. It's just ten minutes by car from downtown and the world-famous San Diego Zoo and about a fifteen-minute drive from the beach. Style-wise, the design is influenced by mid-century modern – think Bauhaus and Rothko prints on the walls, a vinyl record player in the lounge, and a retro gaming console in the third bedroom. Outside, a private patio creates the perfect setting to relax and unwind after your adventures. The cherry on top is the heated stock tank pool, great for a sunset dip.
