It a really cool, very rustic cabin. Don’t expect the Ritz Carlton but do expect a great place that has everything you need to enjoy jocassee.

Very relaxing vacation
Spent a long weekend at the hideaway. It was a rustic and relaxing get away. The house was the perfect size for our group of 9 with room to spare. The porch and dock were our favorite spots.
We had no trouble fitting our extended family of 10 into this house and loved the views from the porch and playing in beautiful Lake Jocassee. Recommend renting a boat while you are there to explore!
I lovely stay on lake Jocassee
We love the deck space, deck and swing. Ample room inside for group activities. Hiking water time and beautiful views abound. Can’t wait to come back.
This cabin on jocassee has great lake access and great internet. Good internet in this part of the country is hard to find. Cabin comfortably sleeps three couples and up to 4 kids. I love this place.
We enjoyed our stay. The views were amazing. From the house you can see clearly across the lake. It rain over 80% of our trip. But we made the best of it. Playing games and building puzzles.
We had a great time at Jocassee Hideaway. The cabin is rustic and comfortable. The location is relaxing and secluded. Even though it was a little cold outside for part of our trip, we brought a paddleboard with us (so glad we did!) and enjoyed using the canoe that is on site. Exploring coves and paddling to a waterfall (about 1-1.5 hours round trip) were some of our highlights. There are also several good hiking trails nearby. We had a great experience here and would come back.
The Jocassee Hideaway is a spacious, comfortable but still quaint cabin in the woods with a fantastic view and easy access down to the lake. It's such a peaceful place with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Our family had a wonderful time kayaking and canoeing to see the beautiful waterfalls in the various coves of the lake. Because of the secluded and mountainous location, we recommend driving there in the daytime, so you can clearly see where you're going. We can't wait to go back again!

Great getaway from it all location! Just what we were looking for.
Rustic but charming. Informal but with all the right touches. Roomy, comfortable common areas...kitchen, dining, family room, and loft. Four bedrooms with three modern baths allow for personal space. The view from the lakeside porch is one of a kind....big water with mountains rimming its edge. Owner was quick to respond to our questions and even quicker to make sure we were set to enjoy our stay.
Nice little house. Good location, beds good be better with less plastic. No room to put our 2 bags of trash. Last trash was never picked up. Would be a pretty cool place in summer also. We used this place to hunt musterground road.
We stayed for 5 nights and even though most days were rainy, we still enjoyed our time here. The back porch is covered and kept us dry, and the view is beautiful. We brought a boat which stayed dry under the covered dock and we were able to take it out in between rain showers. There are no steps down to the dock, but it is a little bit of a walk down and back up a hill. This is a rustic cabin, but it had everything we needed and had plenty of space. I'd definitely stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Rita Woods
Our family lives a little over an hour away in beautiful downtown Greenville, SC. My husband grew up on the coast of SC and I grew up on the Florida panhandle. We’ve now spent over half of our lives in Greenville but really love being able to enjoy such pristine water (with no sharks 😅) and the beautiful scenery and hiking of the surrounding mountains.
Why they chose this property
With only 37 home on Jocassee, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity to enjoy and share such a beautiful place. We had a cabin on Lake Keowee for nearly 15 years but it became too crowded for us to enjoy being there as much on a regular basis. We wanted to be more remote and to be able to explore.
