NEW A/C! End of the Road location and still close to all the sites! Campfires!

This is it! Awesome and New to the Vacation Rental Market this Spring and no expense spared in all New beds, New Real Log Furniture and furnishings. Our goal with this cabin is to help you create family experiences and memories that will last a lifetime! The Deer Valley Cabin has the best of both worlds in that it offers end-of-the road location with a large pine studded lot but still close to town for all those last minute runs and restaurants (who wants to cook on vacation?).

Deer Valley has deck's for days and the outdoor space is unmatched, and you haven't even heard about the yard (or bunkhouse) yet.

You will enjoy your morning cup of joe as the sun rises on our wrap-around deck, its huge! Or, if you were the lucky one that got the upstairs Master East (twin masters) you have you own private balcony where you can see the peak of Mount Coolidge in the distance over the top of the vista of Lodgepole Pines so awesome!

CAMPFIRES? Yes! you have to abide by Black Hills Fire Rules if they are enacted for dry conditions but its there and add mallows! There is nothing better than sticky marshmallows, a campfire, family and the night sky (where you can actually see stars so bright...) I can hear the crackle and smell the fire right now, I love it!
Deer Valley has 3+ bedrooms, plus a bonus bunk bed room that adds more sleeping options...AND a detached Bunkhouse for those that want to just get away for a night (or the whole trip). The cabin has two bathrooms, one with tub/shower.
We want you to have a blast while in Custer and Deer Valley is geared for the utmost in family fun.

Are we close to the attractions??? Yes!!!....Mt Rushmore is 15 minutes, Crazy Horse is 5 minutes, Custer State Park is 8 minutes, Sylvan Lake is 18 minutes and the town of Custer is a little over a mile away. Deer Valley allows you to get more bang for the buck by being situated so close you can go to Rushmore by day and go back at night for the lighting ceremony (your ticket is actually an annual pass so use it).
We recently purchased Deer Valley and chose the name because our visits always included seeing deer. Have your camera ready as they sure do like to pose for pictures.

We loved our stay there, it reminded us of our place in northern WI. Beds very comfortable and individualized temperature control was a plus. Wish the kitchen had been a little bigger but then it met all our needs. Our host sent the schedule for fourth of July celebrations in town and that was really nice! Would stay there again! First time we had been to South Dakota and so nice to get out of town to unwind from a busy day of site seeing, it was crowded due the fourth of July!

Lovely stay. The a/c does not extend to all of the bedrooms. Everything is comfortable otherwise. Plenty of deer and bunnies to watch from the deck. Be prepared for well water that carries its own scent.

Very clean cabin, fun "cabin" theme running throughout the whole place. Kiddo loved the comfy bunk bed and large yard to explore. Wifi was excellent and amenities listed as expected. Only a heads up on the strong flavored well water would have been helpful, we stocked up on bottled water all week!Campfire looked wonderful and well stocked, but sadly a 6 month long fire ban kinda kills the excitement. Beds all had foam mattress toppers, but the king bed itself needs to be replaced, my husband slept in a "hole" every night. That same bedroom got quite stuffy as it did not have its own a/c and shared with the other upstairs bedroom. Overall great experience, with some minor changes to make it exceptional.

Cozy and Convenient

This older, rustic cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of Custer. It has a large yard, which the kids loved, and all the amenities necessary for a great time in the Black Hills; very convenient to all the attractions. The owner is super easy to work with! We really enjoyed our stay.

The pictures dont do this home justice! Beautiful home and property. We had 8 people (3 couples and 2 singles) and we were all comfortable space wise. The property owners are super accommodating and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay again!

We are a family that has hospitality in our blood. I was raised in a family resort setting in Northern Minnesota and fully understand and desire to give a great guest experience here in Custer. We fell in love with South Dakota and the Black Hills after a family road trip 9 years ago and we love this property.

Why they chose this property

We recently purchased Deer Valley (we named it after seeing Deer feeding in the area upon our arrivals) in the Spring of 2017. The location and setup are perfect for any family vacation and is a great "homebase" for all of your Black Hills did I mention you are allowed to have campfires here too! (check conditions for safety)
Deer Valley has a layout that is conducive for vacation rentals. We have "decks for days" as the main deck wraps around the cabin and is a great hang out spot anytime of the day or may not want to leave it. There is also a private deck/balcony off the East Master that is breath taking. Deer Valley has its own detached bunkhouse with a queen bed if you just want to "camp" for the night, or it has its own deck too.
We also have a large, gently sloped lot that has open spaces, campfire rings and pine studded beautiful!
