About this property

Kona Ocean View, Pool and BBQ, Beautiful Gardens

Our condo has been renovated and has granite counter tops, upscale furnishings, remodeled bathrooms and everything a home needs. There is a king size bed in the master suite and two twins in the guest bedroom.

The condo sleeps 4 with comfort and loads of space to spread out.

Enjoy a fantastic view of the ocean from the kitchen, dining area and living room. The living room has a sliding door to the lanai. The master bedroom has a sliding door to the lanai. Listen to the ocean come rolling in and fall asleep. Peaceful bliss.

The furnishings are lovely and comfortable. Sit and read a book or watch a tv show, take a swim in the pool, or sit across the street and watch the waves, surfers, and sea turtles.

A rental fully refundable deposit, signed contract, and paid Hawaii state TAT and GET taxes are required for a completed reservation.

Rebecca’s place was perfect for our stay. It was lots of space for our family of 4 and had everything we needed. There are lots of towels, paper towels, shampoo, etc. and the kitchen had absolutely anything you could want to cook with. We really enjoyed the pool area which was nice and clean and not crowded. We also appreciated the beach chairs, boogie boards, pool noodles, cooler bags and ice packs. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

A condo with everything

It has the best view in the entire complex. It is stocked with everything necessary for food preparation and an enjoyable stay. The furnishings are consistent with those in a primary home, not a vacation rental. The air flow was such that we stopped using the AC. The location is about two miles from the restaurant/nightlife area of Kona. Close enough for nightly visits but far enough away for quiet at night.

Our condo was perfect. The location was great, the ocean view, and the quietness. We really enjoyed our stay. Having two full bathrooms was a real bonus. The condo had everything we needed to cook, relax, and go to the beach. There is plenty of room for dining, being together, and being apart. I especially enjoyed the ocean breezes while I slept. The condo complex was clean and quiet. The location was close to activities, but not so close that we felt "in the middle of it". We had a wonderful time. I would rent this all over again.

The view!! (Love) Best lanai in the complex! The condo was fully stocked, super comfortable. The complex was clean and well kept. Neighbors were friendly & quiet. Bedrooms are separated from each other, plenty of privacy. Parking is easy. Trolley stop is close by. Complex pool and hot tub were great. AC & WiFi worked great. No complaints whatsoever! You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful stay, wish I could come back!

Honeymoon Stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo has everything you need except for snorkeling gear, which was no big deal to rent. The coolers and beach towels were perfect for our daily outings which took us completely around the island to hike and snorkel. It is so beautiful! The view is amazing and the condo is so quiet. We were able to pick up fresh island fruit from the open air market just down the road and cut it up to have for breakfast with coffee while sitting on the lanai. The location is great and Ms. Rebecca communicated extremely well with us. We have already talked about returning to this location again!!! We would definitely recommend to anyone including our family and friends who are looking to going.

Unit was well equipped. The views of the ocean and sunsets were outstanding. The outside swimming and grilling areas were excellent. The on-site management team was very helpful. Guests should bring their own soap and/or body wash and facial tissues if they need them as they were not provided. The temperature in the bedroom off the front hall was very warm during the night since the AC distribution system seemed out of balance. The cooling in the master bedroom was fine.

Perfect stay

This condo is a fantastic place to stay on the big island. The pictures and descriptions of place do not do it justice. The condo is stocked with everything, full kitchen supplies, plenty of toilet paper paper towels , detergent, dishwashing soap. Usually you get a minuscule amount of supplies not here fully stocked . View is the best in the complex . Coolers , boogie no ears , beach chairs. Everything single thing you could ever need . Rebecca is a wonderful host. Quick to respond with any question you have We loved staying here we will definitely stay here again in the future.

First trip to Hawaii

This condo was perfect for our stay in Kona. The location was ideal and the view was amazing. This is the best condo in the complex with a direct ocean view right over the pool. The condo had everything we need. Even overstocked. The property was extremely well maintained - workers out there spraying down the pool area early every day. The BBQs are brand new and even music and nice lighting while out at the pool or dining outside with the waves crashing just across the street. It was a long drive to visit some other parts of the island and wondered if we’d regret not having a place in Hilo for part of our stay but absolutely worth the extra driving to come back to this place. The kids loved choosing from all the board games and we had all the channels/apps we needed to wind down with a movie. The owner was super responsive and friendly and of all the VRBOs we’ve rented over the years this may be our favorite (location absolutely was)!

Great & So Well Stocked!

The complex is beautiful! Starting with the parking space, right by the elevator. From there an easy walk past the Koi pond to the condo. Once in, it’s easy to cool the unit down because there’s excellent cross ventilation. There are plenty of fans, and AC too. The furnishings & decor are very nice. I wish I had read all the items provided & could have packed much less! So much of everything! The pool & grounds are very well maintained. We grilled several times. The lanai has an amazing ocean view. It also overlooks the pool which I enjoyed because our grandchildren joined us mid trip. We are Alaskan, so they really enjoyed being in an outdoor pool. My husband also liked the hot tub. The only downside, is the property next door is undeveloped, but has roosters who crow before dawn. But you can’t hear them with the lanai door closed. The thoughtful owners provided very nice beach, chairs, coolers, etc., for enjoying the ocean as well. This unit is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing easy Hawaiian vacation.

Beware!!! Stay away from this host!!!

What was supposed to be a beautifully crafted review has now turned into a warning to future guests!!! I will never book with this host and I am here to tell the world that they have been forewarned! The host lives on the mainland and will not be there to physically make sure the property is in good shape before your stay. Instead, she relies on an incompetent and shady property manager to be her eyes and ears and solely trusts them because she deems that person to be “honest” while you, the guest is assumed “dishonest”. I don’t know about you, but when I go on vacation, the things I check for are hot running water, a comfy bed, and a generally clean place to stay. I didn’t know I was responsible to inspect the place for damages and repairs needed. If that was the case, why am I shelling out money to stay when I should be paid to be the property manager? At any rate, there was a seal loose in the master bedroom when we arrived. When we shower, we don’t wear our glasses and thought it was a door handle since it was protruding out as a loop. Of course I didn’t take any pictures or report because I didn’t deem it as damage and I never denied seeing the loop handle. Again, it’s NOT my job to look for and report damages. At any rate, we were charged for damages that we didn’t cause. We requested for proof that the shower was NOT damaged before our stay and she couldn’t provide that. Since I had no recourse, I will let karma handle things from here on… Becki.

Great Condo

We’ve stayed in three other units in this complex and this one was by far the best. The unit’s location is ideal with excellent views and privacy, and it is well-kept and well appointed. It had everything we needed, including stuff for the beach. Rebecca provides lots of information and was super responsive. We’ll try to stay in this unit during our future Kona trips.

Wow! Wow! Wow!

What a great place to stay! This unit is arguably the best unit in the complex with amazing view of the ocean. This is my 5th trip to Big Island, and this is the best overall Condo we have stayed in. We sat on the veranda every morning watching whales, surfers, and the waves. Very clean, had everything we wanted. It was so nice to chill in the pool after a day of adventure. The grounds are immaculate, neighborhood safe - there are lots of bikers runners, and walkers, and there are nice beaches within easy walking distance. Big Island is big, and for us, this location was about half way between our favorite snorkeling at 2-step and Captain Cooks, and our favorite beaches up north. Also very close to the road that takes you over to Hilo to do the waterfalls, and then on up north to hike the Pololu Valley. This is a short but fairly steep hike to a beautiful ocean front valley that is well worth the trouble to get there. We take hammocks and just chill in the gorgeous valley watching the whales and waves. Parking can be a little tricky, try to get there earlier in the day, or later in the evening. My only complaint was that the hot tub seems to be turned on and off frequently, and very sporadically. Sometimes it was on all day, then off in the evenings, other times off all day and on in the evenings. Since there is no way for you to control it, you are kind of at the whims of whomever, or whatever does control it. Thanks Rebecca - definitely on my do again list.

Our family is a long time resident of Colorado. But, we have always loved visiting Hawaii and finally decided that the Big Island was where we want to retire someday.

Why they chose this property

This property is beautiful, with koi ponds and lush gardens.
We have a wonderful general Manager that really cares for the property. We love that it has more of a home feel and less of a resort feel. Our condo has a fanastic view of the ocean and one can be hypnotized by the ocean waves. It was love at first sight.

What makes this property unique

The condo offers a parking spot next to the elevator and has only 2 neighbors. We overlook the heated pool and BBQ area and have views of the forest next door, the bay across the street where you can see the spinner dolphins on occasion, and watch the honu (sea turtles), and whales breaching in the winter months and have a quiet walk through the gardens.

The condo complex is maintained to high standards by our amazing General Manager. He is always looking for ways to improve the property, guide owners in their condo remodels and assist guests that need help or information.

Overall, the Royal Kahili is a wonderful, restful location to start your journey into the life of the Big Island of Hawaii. We invite you to book a stay with us and come enjoy our Kona home and the beautiful location of the Royal Kahili.
