We invite you to our Hawai’i home nestled in the lush greenery of Puna on the Big Island. This three bedroom well-appointed home is perfect for friends and families–so pack up the kids and grandparents and head on over. It’s a great home base location for exploring all of the east side of the island and beyond.
You will feel right at home here. The living area is charming and comfortable. The well-stocked kitchen has all you’ll need to cook your favorite meals. Enjoy a soak in the clawfoot bathtub. The natural setting lends itself to memorable stargazing, slow morning coffee and gentle trade winds. The front covered lanai hosts a lovely dining table for meals and game nights. You can also unwind with streaming services on the smart TV. Enjoy stargazing from one of the two back balconies. For our guests who need to mix work and play, the desk in the second bedroom provides a quiet workspace with room to spread out. Much remote work has also taken place from the lanai.
You will have over half an acre of land to call your own during your stay. It is landscaped with mature fruit trees, coconut palms, and many tropical plants. Breathe in the unbelievable fragrance of the tropical flowers. Evenings guarantee the spirited sound of a frog serenade and mornings are alive with bird song. Beautiful towering bamboo shelters the hale in privacy. Please enjoy the grounds and help yourself to any ripe avocados, oranges, prolific lemons or starfruit that you find on our trees.
Centrally located between historic Hilo and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, you will be an easy scenic drive from all East Hawai'i has to offer, including local attractions such as farmers markets, black sand beaches, waterfalls, and Kilauea crater.
A diversity of dining options are nearby in Kea'au (7 miles), Pahoa (8 miles), and Hilo (14 miles).
The place is yours to enjoy. Host Gina lives on the far side of the property (we share a driveway) in a separate residence allowing for privacy while also being available throughout your stay.
We have a Pack and Play for our youngest guests.
It is highly recommend that you have your own transportation while visiting the Big Island.
Hawaii is a natural paradise where you are likely to encounter geckos, critters and flying bugs. This is a normal part of life here.

Lovely house conveniently located for volcano exploration
Lovely house and comfortable for a stay near the volcano park. Foodland is conveniently located 15 minutes away. Hilo is 20 minutes away and the volcano park is 40 minutes away. Star fruit tree and lemon tree with fresh fruits were a real treat. TV and games were available for the keikis entertainment. Great stay.
Our host was great with communication- both quick to respond and helpful. The scenery was lovely: a peacock strolled right through the yard, and didn't seem bothered by our taking pics. My favorite part was sitting out on the lanai and listening to the birds as I sipped coffee, then we would head out for a day of sight seeing.
