About this property
Family Waterfront Haven on the Saco River, Private Road, Hiking, Outdoor Fun
Welcome!
Our home is on the Saco River and surrounded by three mountains. The house is on a (really) quiet, dead-end, private road (10 mph speed limit) on which only a few cars travel. Rush hour is two cars crossing. Happens a couple of times a week.
The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms:
- The Master bedroom graced with a queen bed and an attached bathroom. The room looks out onto the river. - The second bedroom also has a queen bed, and looks out to a mountain. - The third bedroom looks out to the mountain as well. It has two twin beds and a spare twin memory foam mattress stored under one of the beds.
In total, the house sleeps 7 in 3 bed rooms. There is a comfortable couch in the living room in a pinch and a twin pull-out sofa.
The kitchen is fully equipped. This house is literally home, so we stock it to live in, not pass through. We keep adding tools at random - the most recent was a potato masher. D'oh. Recently, one of our daughters castigated us for omitting a meat mallet. We replied that it was out of consideration for her husband. Not really, but she left herself open to that, don’t you think?
Our deck overlooks the river. We have air conditioning and heat (in case the AC is too cold). But the best part of summer is being able to open the windows and let the fresh air in (yes, fresh), and listen to the river rushing by. The Saco is beautiful. Clear as a bell. (In the winter one of us likes to crank up the heat, open the doors and listen to the river as he writes. You can imagine what She has to say about that. No meat mallet...
Our house was built by a gentleman who is 6’ 4” tall, so all the doorways are tall and the ceilings high. The basement ceiling is beyond reach of us shorter people. The attached garage is huge. Brenda has been eyeing it for her workbench and tools (she has more power tools than most men AND knows how to use them all), but I am resisting on your behalf; I don't know how long I can hold her off. She's strong - she's a woman after all.
We have WiFi, a library of about 200 DVDs, tons of books, and quite a few games and toys. Prime Video, Netflix as well. But come on, do you really want to watch TV in the White Mountains?
IF you need to work, our WiFi is great - we often have four family members working remotely at the same time, (a couple of them crunching massive amounts of data). And two to four others streaming at the same time. They haven't noticed any lags.
We provide all linens, a lot of towels, etc. We wash all of them of course, including the duvet covers and shams.
We are near (15-20 minutes) Storyland, North Conway outlets, Attitash skiing and zip lining, and the White Mountain National Forest. About 20 minutes from the Washington Hotel - a truly posh place to enjoy a drink or a meal. Not to mention Bretton Woods, the largest skiing facility in New England. Hikes galore , as well.
We highly recommend you stow your cell phones and just listen to the river. It'll wash away your stress as it does ours. Grab a plastic wine glass or cup, sit on the big rocks in the river and have a beer or whatever. Maybe a snack or two. It is wonderful. Really.
We keep our house CLEAN. We stock each bathroom and kitchen with cleaning materials because one of us gets distracted on his way from one place to another searching for stuff. He's like a little kid that way. Paper towels, tissues, and toilet paper provided, of course. Plenty of spare rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom.
And we leave you a new, wrapped sponge (don't you hate someone else's used one?).
Do drop us a line. We'll be happy to tell you more! Meanwhile, we wish you the best of health.
Brenda and Ajith

Right on the Saco River, clean and overly equipped home, everything you need for a relaxing vacation :). Great location. We were SO happy with finding this gem. My kids LOVED this place and absolutely did NOT want to leave, we will be back for sure!
We had a great stay! Perfect location and so nice being able to take a few stairs down to the Saco river and not have to pack the kids up in car! The kids room was perfect for my boys ages 7&8. The hosts were readily available if needed but the house was well supplied including plenty of towels for all the days at the river.
Great spot on the river! The house if fully equipped for anything you need, and very comfortable. We spent our days lounging in the river and swimming and exploring, and our nights playing board games together! The hosts are very kind and gracious, with lots of communication.
Wonderful family friendly home, right on the Saco River. The home was clean, comfortable, very homey. Location was remote but perfect. We know the area well so drove to some favorite spots but always came back to relax on the river. Owners were very responsive to the few questions we had. It felt more like staying at a friends house than a VRBO in the best way. There is no cell service but dependable WIFI.
Very peaceful, relaxing , beautiful setting. Our hosts had everything we could ask for. Conveinent access to stores
and restaurants. Would love to stay there again.
The Tiger House is a peaceful place to stay. The house is clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. Open the windows at night and fall asleep to the sounds of the Saco River flowing by. Great place to bring your river raft and enjoy a free ride to the RR bridge.
House is very nice, clean, spacious and beds are super comfortable. Beautiful spot right on Saco River. I loved sleeping listening to the river. We also were blessed to see a bear! What a great experience! Would love to come back again.

I’m so happy to hear that! Our granddaughter named “Birdseed”
This is honestly the best vrbo experience we’ve ever had!! The house is amazing- spotless, so comfy, and the sound of the Saco will lull you to sleep every night!
But the best part is the incredible hospitality and kindness of the hosts- they really went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect! Best place in White Mountains by far!! Just go- you won’t regret it!!
This was a beautiful, well appointed home. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there. Bed and bath linens were both good! There was good access to all the sights we wanted to see on a very busy Columbus Day weekend.
Had an amazing last minute short vacation with my family. There were lots of books and the kitchen was well stocked. The hosts were quick at replying to any questions I had about the area. And the location was great, we were able to walk out the back door and right down to the Saco. We enjoyed the fire pit. I appreciated how clean the house was especially since my daughter is crawling. Definitely going to stay again next summer!
The experience started with the first communication with the host. Very warm friendly welcome to make sure things we ok. Checked in a couple of times during stay. Excellent property well furnished and comfortable with everything you need. We highly recommend this property.
The house was absolutely amazing, and just what we were looking for. Just a mere steps right from the river with a nice swimming area. Host was great and attentive. The home had all that we needed and more! The house had amenities for families of all shapes and sizes and can cater to families or just friends. With the sounds of the river and the ability to gaze at the stars at night, every visitor has the chance to capture the nature of the white mountains.
We had such a great stay. While the weather didn’t cooperate, the owners provided so much family-friendly entertainment whether you are two or sixty-two. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The Saco River is steps from the deck at the back of the house. The sound and sight of the rushing River was spectacular. The owners were incredibly friendly. We cannot wait to return.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming home in New Hampshire. The house was clean, tidy & very welcoming. Our kids were especially delighted by the many stuffed animals placed around the house. One of the biggest highlights was having the Saco River right in the backyard. It was such a treat to have direct access to the water, and our kids spent time playing in it every single day. The surrounding area is very quiet & peaceful. While you can hear some traffic from the road across the river, it was minimal. The hosts were very communicative & responsive. We had a small issue with the hot water on our first night, but Ajith quickly got it resolved. Overall, this was a perfect spot for a family getaway. Highly recommend.
Went with my family over Memorial Day Weekend. House is well equipped and very clean! Kids loved the tigers and alligators. Had lots of games and dvd selections. Close to hiking and biking trails. Weather was beautiful. Yard needed some TLC. Owners were very communicative and available. Overall was a wonderful weekend. Would highly recommend.
Brenda and Ajith were easy to communicate with and have a wonderful home over looking the Saco River and picturesque mountains. The house was very clean and the perfect size for our family of 5. They had everything you need from a fully stocked kitchen to games and videos and books galore. The location was perfect with Attitash right down the street and other mountains close by such as Cranmore and Wild Cat as well as many restaurants and local establishments. We highly recommend renting their home!
Communication with the host was excellent leading up to our stay. They also checked in via text after we arrived to see if we needed anything. The property was as listed. We were happy the kitchen was well stocked as we cook most meals in being that our daughter has a peanut allergy and it’s not easy to eat out. The Saco River sounds fill the house.

We spent 2 weeks in this scenic area in a very quiet and private neighborhood. The home is very relaxing to be in, with comfortable furniture in every room. We so much enjoyed watching the sunrise shining on the rocky mountain peak from the living room, and having our morning coffee in the breakfast nook or the spacious porch watching the Saco river in the back yard. The location is private but close to many attractions, as well as North Conway for shopping. Brenda and Ajith were wonderful to work with, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Can’t wait to return!

Brenda says:
Brenda: For our wedding "march" we chose "The Dream of the Dolphin," a beautiful, surreal song by Enigma. I remember how happy I felt, strolling down the side lawn in my blue wedding dress, on my father's arm. Just as we came into the full view of 50 guests seated in the back yard, the music suddenly switched to "Devil in a Blue Dress." And I decided to keep walking (to the minister, that is, not back to the street). (Ajith: It was sooo worth the four hours I spent splicing part of the song into the wedding song. I'm still alive...)
We have been with VRBO since 2004, since its humble origins as CyberRentals. We listed our previous property in Provincetown for 12 years and have had over 100 guests. We had a 5-star rating.
Ajith: She let me live.
Why they chose this property
Brenda: I grew up in a southern New Hampshire but we went camping a LOT. I came to love the White Mountains region early on, particularly the pristine rivers.
We looked for just the right place in New Hampshire for 6 years, preferably on the Saco (my favorite) or some other river full of boulders and swimming holes. And trout. We wanted to be on a river where you can see and hear crystal clear water rushing by, where you can look down into the water and count individual stones.
We also like to see some unique touches on the outside of a house, so upon seeing this simple home design from the driveway, our first thought was no... this is not the one.
But then we walked inside and met the owners. i think we fell in love with them first, before we fell in love with the property. They had it custom built, and it showed that this was their dream house in every way. The basement ceiling is unusually high and gives the space a clean, open feel. The main house feels open and light. The house is situated as close to the river as is legally allowed (50 feet). When the doors and window are closed, you hear nothing. But when you open a window or slider, the roar of the river just blows you away. The sound is peaceful.
On the opposite side of the property, the Conway Scenic Railway train slowly rumbles by, 3-4 times a day during the summer. You can just see it through the trees. KIDS LOVE THIS. The passengers wave, we wave back, too corny but we get a huge kick out of it. One of us sometimes pulls his tongue out at them. They respond with the same.
Over all, it's relaxing, comfortable and flat-out gorgeous. It's truly a place to go if you want your troubles to melt away. Serene.
Ajith: What she says, of course. It's safer for me.
