We've been Coloradans since 1994, transplants from the Midwest (Wisconsin and Kansas) who fell hard for the mountains and never looked back. After years of dreaming about owning a place in the high country, we finally made it happen — and The Mogul Hut is everything we hoped it would be.

We're a family of four based in the Denver suburbs, and we use this place as our own mountain escape as much as we can. That means it's stocked, cared for, and set up the way we'd want it for ourselves — not as a rental unit, but as a real home in the mountains. If something isn't right, we want to know and we'll make it right.

Summit County has been our playground for over 30 years.

Frisco is an underrated gem. You don't have to drive to Breckenridge for a great mountain town experience — it's right out the front door.

We've spent 30+ years exploring Summit County, and Frisco has always been our answer when people ask for a mountain town that has it all without the crowds or the price tag of Breckenridge. It's authentic, walkable, unpretentious, and sits at the dead center of everything.

The Best of Summit County, All Within Reach
Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Arapahoe Basin are all within 20–30 minutes. The free Summit Stage bus connects you to every major resort and town in the county — no car needed once you're here. In the summer, you're equally well-positioned for hiking, biking, paddleboarding on Lake Dillon, and exploring every mountain town from Silverthorne to Leadville.

Main Street Frisco
Half a mile from the front door is one of Colorado's most underrated main streets — locally-owned restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and gear shops without the tourist congestion of larger resort towns. We love it for a low-key dinner after a big ski day.

That Hike Out the Back Door
This one is special. Walk out the back, cross the stream, pass the playground, and follow the trail up the mountain to a beautiful alpine lake. We did it with our kids when they were very young — it's achievable for most fitness levels and one of those experiences that sticks with you. It's the hike that made us fall in love with this specific location.

Why Mountain Side Specifically
Of all the complexes in Frisco, Mountain Side is our favorite — and we looked at a lot of them before buying. The clubhouse amenities are unmatched, the grounds are well-maintained, and the location hits the sweet spot between trailhead access and walkability to town. We're biased, but we think it's the best complex in Frisco.

A lot of Summit County rentals check one or two boxes. The Mogul Hut checks them all.

The Views & Setting
Step onto the private balcony and you're looking straight at Buffalo Mountain, Peak 1, and a sweeping panorama of some of Colorado's most iconic peaks. Below the balcony, a natural stream runs year-round — but in the warmer months, the sound of moving water with mountain views is genuinely hard to beat. It's the kind of thing guests mention in every summer review.

The Location
Building C puts you at the center of everything — closest unit to the clubhouse, steps from the sand volleyball court, and right on the edge of the trail system for hiking and biking. Main Street Frisco is a half-mile walk. The free Summit Stage bus to every ski resort in the county is right nearby. You can do everything without moving your car.

The Renovation
We didn't cut corners. The kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace surround, and flooring have all been fully renovated — top to bottom, 100%. You're not staying in an older condo that's been patched up over the years. It feels new because it essentially is.

The Peace & Quiet
As the middle unit on the top floor, there's virtually no foot traffic above or to the sides. No stomping upstairs neighbors, no hallway noise. Vaulted ceilings, a skylight, and a stone gas fireplace add to the atmosphere. Guests consistently remark on how calm and private it feels — unusual for a condo property.

The Amenities Package
The clubhouse is steps away and complimentary — indoor pool, 1 indoor hot tub, 3 outdoor hot tubs, sauna, steam room, racquetball/pickleball, tennis, and more. It's a resort amenity package attached to a private condo. That combination is rare.
