Overlook Escape describes this home and its surroundings perfectly! Our friends group enjoyed the comfort and convenience of this home, while relaxing and taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains on the back porch every morning and every evening. The house beautifully decorated had all the amenities of home and was very spacious. We enjoyed gathering around the table together sharing a meal and playing cards before retiring to our comfortable bedding for a great night sleep. The game room was an extra bonus! The owner (Christy) was always available for contacting and was very easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would definitely come back. The location is minutes to town, and short drive to rafting, casino's, and beautiful scenery. We had the best time doing the rail to trails in Andrews. It was a perfect weekend getaway with friends.

Thank you, Jenny! We're thrilled to hear you and your friends enjoyed your stay and made wonderful memories. Your kind words inspire us to keep improving. We can't wait to welcome you back for another perfect getaway!
We just got back from The Retreat and are already checking our calendar to return! This place is pure magic — peaceful, private, and packed with everything you’d want for a relaxing family getaway. The photos were beautiful, but the experience blew us away. From the moment we drove through the private gate, we felt like we’d entered our own mountain paradise. The home is immaculately clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with both comfort and beauty in mind. The beds are plush, the kitchen is stocked with real cookware (not the usual rental basics), and the views from every window are stunning. Our kids loved running free on the property while we enjoyed coffee on the porch, soaking in the stillness and birdsong. Evenings were spent grilling and making s’mores under the stars. It’s rare to find a place where everyone — from toddlers to grandparents — can truly relax and reconnect. The game room was a big hit with the kids, and we appreciated the separate space for them to hang out. Wi-Fi was a little spotty at times, but honestly, we barely noticed with so much to enjoy in and around the home.If you’re even thinking of booking, do it. You won’t find anything quite like this. The Retreat is peaceful, private, beautifully maintained, and absolutely worth it. We’re already dreaming about our next visit.

About the host
Hosted by Christy Naumowicz
We’re a family of six who love to travel and make memories together—especially in the Smoky Mountains. After years of visiting this area (where my parents live nearby), we finally found the perfect spot to share with others.
With four kids ranging from toddler to teen, we know the value of space, comfort, and family-friendly fun. Some of our favorite nearby spots include Downtown Pizza in Murphy—an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar with a game room—and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, which has a bowling alley, arcade, and food court the whole family enjoys. We also love hiking on the property, whitewater rafting nearby, and catching first-run movies at a charming, budget-friendly theater just 10 minutes away.
We hope you’ll enjoy this special place as much as we do—it’s become our family’s favorite escape.
Why they chose this property
We chose this area because it offers the perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and natural beauty while still being close to town and activities. Every visit brings something new—deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife are regular visitors. It’s a place where we can unplug, explore the outdoors, and truly slow down as a family.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property truly special is the rare sense of space, peace, and privacy—all within easy reach of town. Set on nearly 60 private acres, our home is surrounded by natural forest on multiple sides, creating a quiet mountain retreat where you can truly unplug. Guests love the long-range Smoky Mountain views, three scenic gazebos, and the feeling of being immersed in nature—without sacrificing comfort.
It’s not just the setting that stands out—it's the experience. Sip coffee with a sunrise view, watch wildlife wander by, or relax in the glass-walled nature shower off the king suite. Then, when you're ready for adventure, you're just minutes from whitewater rafting, local dining, a budget-friendly movie theater, and Harrah’s Casino and family arcade.
It’s the best of all worlds: private, peaceful, and perfectly placed for exploring everything the Smokies have to offer.
