The owner is very nice and respectful. House wasnt in the best neighborhood, but nothing that was listed and was still very nice. It was close to most place you would want to visit and was well worth the stay.

My friend and I were in town for 12 days during Jazz Fest and stayed 4 nights at Big Easy Charmer. We could not have been happier with the accommodations, location or host. Sharon was gracious in allowing our early arrival, left umbrellas by the door for us when the rains came and responded promptly when we had questions. The space seemed bigger than what the photos depicted. Each room was nicely decorated. The kitchen was roomy and well-organized with all the cooking basics. There was a hairdryer and a variety of toiletries in the bath. Both bedrooms had large mirrors and plenty of hangers in the closets. We had a rental car and did not use public transportation while staying here, although we would have been comfortable walking a half-mile to the bus stop on N. Broad St. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality, Sharon!

Yes, the neighborhood might seem off at first bitterly was nice and quiet, the house is amazing, and it’s close enough to Uber into anything so you can park your car in the secured parking and leave it there. I’d definitely stay there again!

Great small house!

Sharon was very nice and communicative! The property has a very nice kitchen and laundry to help travel at ease. The beds and bathroom were nice too which made it a great place for staying. The area is a walkable from a lot of great areas, but you do have to walk through some rougher parts of town so we felt safer ubering late at night to get back home.

After raising our children and getting them off to college, My husband and I moved from Hawaii to New Orleans in 2015. We enjoy living in culturally diverse communities. The flavorful food, continuous offerings of live music, and festival atmosphere are why we chose New Orleans as our new home.

Why they chose this property

This property was built in 1942. It is a solid timber and beam home that withstood Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent flood due to the levy breaks. It was a Hay and Food store for 30 years in the downstairs, and the owners lived in the apartment upstairs (which is where we now reside). The home sat empty for nearly 20 years, when the original owners son decided to sell. We were lucky enough to get to purchase the property from him.
We spent nearly 2 years taking it from a gutted building to a charming New Orleans home.

What makes this property unique

Away from the noise of the French Quarter, but easy 5 minutes drive to the French Market and Frenchman street. 10 minutes to Bourbon Street.
