I am a fourth generation YOOPER my father was born in this village long ago, his father my grandfather worked at the Brunswick Balke colander company which they made pool stick cues, bowling pins during the 1920s. My grandfather invented a bowling pin in 1926 and patented. Later, the town sat during the depression with children ship to CCC camps, which my father did.
Henry Ford purchased the lumber mill in the 1940s and brought the town alive again shipping wood for side panels of Ford vehicles.. At the end of this road the cabin is on , sits a very private exclusive club with a gate - you can drive down to see it but not enter to Salmon. Trout River is right before it’s very scenic. The private club host 150 members around the nation who have a generational wealth. Henry Ford was a member at one time as a teenager. I worked there serving breakfast lunch, and dinner to the members the dining hall and all the cabins are very rustic. The dining hall is sit situated on the beach. Where the sun rises daily.-
The members are mainly present in the summer. You may see them ride by in valet type vehicles to spend the summer away from the lifestyle, they’re accustomed to. Many members are very humble they welcome the pristine nature we have in the upper Peninsula. Lake superior Burns, Landing /Squaw beach are 2 miles away.
The northern lights and sky gazing are very welcoming here at the spot. This particular spot has no light pollution.. There is a historic Inn /restaurant , also a Local tavern with great pizza and fish fries, not far in the village. There is one store with pasties sandwiches in a cooler, refreshments, and other commodities.. they also sell T-shirts puzzles postcards. Attached to the store is a laundromat and a wonderful breakfast Café..

Why they chose this property

Watching the deer and listening to the birds reading books, watching movies at night or listening to the quietness—bike riding, sky watching, beach combing nearby. Exploring the land and historical village.
For your fur baby there’s a long leash they can hang out on the front deck .
If you want to run your dog off leash in the back of the woods is nice also the beach for off leash along with the trail systems. It’s literally a dogs heaven in the UP.
Either solo or couple unwind unplug and embrace the quiet peaceful north country.
Enjoy nature !

What makes this property unique

Secluded. Quiet yet close to village restaurants recreation and beaches.
