About the host
Hosted by Ralph Patch

We are a retired couple who are delving into this new venture. It has been a long road this past year getting our short-term rental prepared for guests. We are in the final stages of putting a sidewalk and firepit area in and they will be complete the last week in May.
Ralph is a former musician and Carla is a former teacher. We have lived in this home for over 20 years and would like to share the separate second home with travelers seeking a quiet, secluded home away from home.

Why they chose this property
We chose this area because we enjoy a quiet, slower pace in life. It is a short trip to access area lakes, trails, ski areas, golf courses, state parks, and several area cities (Blackduck, Cass Lake, and Bemidji). In these cities you will find shopping, casinos, parks, and wonderful dining opportunities. Also within reasonable driving distance is the beautiful Itasca State Park, Grand Rapids History Center, Lost Forty, Buena Vista Ski area, and more lakes than you would ever be able to visit on a vacation. A big plus in June is the Lady Slipper area just a couple of miles from the property where a dedicated group rescued our Minnesota State Flower when the new road was put in. These beauties have flourished and draw many, many visitors to see their blooming display in June/July.
What makes this property unique
Our property is not on the busy shores of a lake, but multiple lakes are within minutes. You are able to enjoy all that the area offers and then be able to come "home" to a quiet area where you can sit on the deck or around the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. You will hear loons singing from the area lakes and birds singing in the morning while you have your cup of coffee on the deck planning your adventures for the day. We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with you.
