About this property

Mountain cabin w/hot tub & fire pit

Summary:

Nestled among towering trees in the peaceful hills of Romney, this cabin invites you to unwind with mountain breezes, a warm open‑plan living space, and private outdoor decks—perfect for families, friends, and dog‑loving travelers seeking a serene getaway any season. Enjoy evenings by the fire pit, soak in the hot tub under starry skies, and explore nearby state parks, historic railroads, and ski slopes—all just a short drive away.

The Space:

Quiet mountain air greets you as you step onto the deck, the scent of pine mingling with the faint crackle of a fire pit waiting for evening gatherings. Inside, the open two‑story living area invites you to unwind on plush sofas while the Smart TV flickers with your favorite shows, and the gentle hum of the heating or air‑conditioning keeps the cabin comfortable no matter the weather. Outside, the private acreage offers a hot tub that steams against the cool breeze, perfect for soothing muscles after a day of hiking or exploring nearby towns.

Sleeping arrangements

The cabin sleeps seven across two bedrooms and a lower‑level game room. An upper‑level bedroom features a king bed, while the main‑level bedroom holds two queen beds. A twin day bed in the game room provides a flexible spot for kids or an extra guest. A full bathroom serves the entire space.

Kitchen & dining

A fully equipped kitchen stands ready for everything from quick breakfasts to hearty dinners, with a dining area nearby that comfortably seats the whole group for meals, board games, or relaxed conversation. A grill on the deck adds the option of outdoor cooking when the weather permits.

Indoor entertainment

The lower‑level game room is stocked with children’s books, toys, and board games, creating a lively hub for families during cooler evenings. Wi‑Fi is available throughout the cabin for streaming or video calls, though service can be slower in this remote setting.

Outdoor living

Multiple decks overlook the surrounding woods, offering tranquil spots for morning coffee or sunset reflections. The fire pit is ideal for roasting marshmallows under clear night skies, and the hot tub provides a warm soak surrounded by the quiet of private land. A grill and outdoor seating complete the outdoor amenities.

Neighborhood & nearby experiences

A short drive brings you to the town of Romney, where local shops and restaurants add a touch of small‑town charm. Within easy reach are state parks, scenic railroads, rivers, and mountain destinations such as Timberline Mountain and Canaan Valley Ski Resort, offering year‑round recreation from hiking to winter sports.

Pet‑friendly details

Dogs are welcome to share the adventure; cats are not allowed due to allergies. Quiet hours are observed in accordance with HOA guidelines, and the fire pit must be attended while in use and fully extinguished afterward.

Whether you seek a winter escape filled with cozy evenings, an active outdoor adventure, or simply a peaceful retreat to reconnect with family, this Romney cabin provides a comfortable, inviting base for your mountain getaway.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
