About the host

As a native Californian, I spent my childhood growing up in Manhattan Beach, Ca. A new job opportunity brought me to Tennessee in 1987 after college. Looking for the nearest beach, a co-worker suggested Gulf Shores. In the Spring of 1988, I came to Gulf Shores for the first time and I was stunned by its natural beauty, white sandy beaches, blue-green waters, and peaceful serenity. I have vacationed in Gulf Shores every year since 1988.
Why they chose this property
It's all about the balcony and the view. I believe that Island Royale condos have best balconies, especially the corner units on the east side of the building. The east corner balconies do not get the hot afternoon sun in the summer. And, since the building is right on the sand, the sound of the waves on the beach make the balcony my favorite part of the condo. I also like the layout of the penthouse corner units in Island Royale. The floorplan offers the option for 3 private master suites, so, you have the flexibility of spending time together in the living room or balcony, but everyone can have their own space too. Island Royale is a smaller building on a less densely built stretch of beach in Gulf Shores so the beach is never crowded, even on the most popular holidays.
