About this property

Charming Vintage Lakefront Cottage on Seneca Lake

Unplug, unwind, and soak up lake life at SandraLa, a charming vintage cottage with direct Seneca Lake access. With no internet or TV, it’s the perfect spot to disconnect, relax with a good book, and enjoy peaceful water views. The lake provides a beautiful breeze(no AC).

The cottage sleeps up to 3 and features a shared dock with property owner that still feels private, ample parking, and plenty of character. We draw from the lake and provide our guests bottled water. Due to our location our water pressure is low. The shower is more like a gentle rain rather than a downpour. Please note: SandraLa includes many stairs and is not handicap accessible. No pets or smoking allowed.

Located on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, you’re minutes from Spotted Duck Creamery, Climbing Bines Brewery, and Showboat Restaurant—with wineries and breweries galore nearby.

Escape to the lake and let SandraLa be your cozy home base.

Check in was good, they personally joined us, even though it was late, to walk us down and show us the home.

I have no idea what property Stacey I. and Aaron S. were reviewing... unless the reviews are fake or Stacey and Aaron have no standards. My husband and I arrived later (interestingly, our late check-in mirrors "Aaron's" experience. Hmm...) and left not even 20 minutes after being shown around. Highlights (lowlights?) of this place that makes a tenement look like Buckingham Palace are as follows:-The "many stairs" described in the listing don't tell you how many there are, that they're rickety and precarious inside or out, that that you must bring a flashlight because the three stories of exterior stairs aren't lit.-You're expected to throw TP in a trash can versus flushing it. Or go "European style." Ew. -There was no real living space. All that you could access from the door was the kitchen (which boasted an absolute fire hazard of a range). Up a flight were two bedrooms and the loo. Up another harrowing flight was a sitting area from what I recall.-There was potential for some random septic tank alarm to go off. As someone who startles easily and is sensitive to alarms, nah.-None of the windows appeared to have seen a squirt of Windex since the Nixon administration. The whole place was dirty. -The porch was not as photoed. That swing chair was on the ground acting as a storage vessel.-We asked for a key and were told, oh, we don't lock the doors here. That last one was the deal-breaker. We're fighting with VRBO to get a refund. This place is simply not ready.

The property has been in the family for over 60 years and has been enjoyed by 3 generations.

Why they chose this property

Our favorite thing to do is to just sit on the dock and read followed by a jump in the lake to cool off.
